What worked for me when I switched to Alternative layout was that I mapped Deploy Bipod/Mount to circle (melee), which works well since you have to ADS to mount anyway.
I also mapped L3 to Range Finder Zeroing if Zoomed. When I'm sniping, I hit L3 to hold breath anyway, so that also automatically sets the zeroing range just before hitting the trigger. Got this one from XclusiveAce's control settings video for BF6.
Of course, since doing the above technically makes an edit in the alternative layout, it changes from Alternative to Custom button layout after remapping.
