PS5 Controller Disconnect - Unable to Select Game Mode

If your PS5 Controller disconnects after you have left a game (but are still on the main menu) you are unable to select any game mode to include multiplayer, training, etc. by pressing up/down on the d-pad. You can still press R1/R2 to access the menus at the top right corner. The only solution is the restart the game to start a new game.
