Spacebar unbound but still deploys

I'm on PC but play with a controller, though I have a keyboard ready for chat. I used to just hit the spacebar to open the chat box. I had to rebind the spacebar to chat and unbind it from everything else I could find. Even though I've done so, if I hit spacebar while in the spawn menu, it will deploy me. 

I forgot why I stopped playing this game. You people working on it can't seem to do anything right.

I jumped into a game to test the spacebar thing I'm talking about. I figured I'd just quit after I died. I've had this issue long ago as well, but if you quit to the menu right after you die, all you get is a black screen, and you'll have to quit the game from Steam.
