A squad I play with, Xbox/PC, is having the same issue but found a workaround. Certainly a PITA but we’ve at least been able to play.
1) BEFORE squadding up, EA Party Leader browses for a specific mode of their choosing and selects it.
2) Once in the lobby room. Select each party member on EA Socials Menu and invite them individually, one at a time. Members SHOULD NOT hit the join prompt WITHOUT an invite.
3) Once entire team is in the lobby, Party Leader may now hit “Start” to matchmake.
