First of, great new stuff in the 2 player career! Some things though:
- In 2 player career, the starting grid after the qualifying is sometimes sorted after teams, with me and my mate (both Haas) being in front row despite qualifying 4 and 10. All the other teams had their driver pairs accordingly behind us. I did change the AI difficulty from 85 to 90 between the Qualifying and the Sprint. It should be noted that the cinematic sequence had Crofty list the correct order, just for the game to put us in the first row anyway. Fast forward to full race (and another change from AI difficulty to 100), the starting order seemed to be completely random, with the order neither resembling the qualifying results nor the displayed position numbers next to the driver names. In the list on the top left and on my steering wheel, I was P11 and my friend P12 (which is how we qualified). However on his screen and in reality he was 15 and I was 17. After the formation lap, the list on my screen jumped to display the actual (randomized) order, however the position numbers next to the driver names were still what the actual qualifying results were and where they should've started. I originally qualified in front of my friend, so even if the adjustment to the AI difficulty for some reason altered times (even though I adjusted prior to qualifying, not afterwards), I still should've started in front of him, plus why would the increase in AI difficulty in the sprint result in us starting from the front? Going back and trying this without changing AI difficulty, it can still happen. Both in the career and when creating a new one, there is no setting to adjust the starting grid order or randomize it (like you are able to do for custom GP lobbies in F1 World)
- Almost none of the newly advertised features for the second player work. We entered both players in the same team (custom characters into Haas), Contracts mode. As far as I understood it from the assistants explanation, it's supposed to be like this: Both drivers (either real or AI) have a say in what will be updated in R&D or other areas of the team development, with the amount of recognition they acquire deciding over how much say they have compared to each other and to the rest of the team. I thought this would mean something like R&D putting resources into all the categories anyone wants to invest in by the respective amount of say they have in the company. But I don't see this having any effect in reality. Even if my teammate is Max Verstappen with 80% say, I can still just overrule him. The second player can't do anything, it always tells him that only the lead driver is able to do stuff. I can't tell any difference to earlier games. Only the lobby leader decides what will be upgraded, the staff doesn't seem to have a preference and both players share their research points. Now, there is a marking on one department of R&D, which says "PLY" and supposedly shows what my teammate is interested in upgrading. But my teammate didn't click on anything. I assume it's bugged and the AI is making the decision for him, as if my teammate is still an AI. Overall, since you slowly build up your reputation I assume every percent of say actually influences the decision making to some extent (because why implement it if not), but how exactly do the small %-amounts influence decisions and what does the second player have to do with it? What are the mechanics here?
