AI Difficulty Imbalance Between Dry and Wet Conditions – Needs Fixing

The real problem is that the AI is too slow in dry conditions. I can beat it without any setup at 110 difficulty, and even with a margin, while in the wet it’s almost two seconds faster than me. I think the wet difficulty is well balanced. Racing at 110 in the wet can be a good challenge for pro players. The point is that the dry difficulty needs to be increased by at least a second, or even a second and a half, to match the level of challenge in the wet. And let’s not even talk about Monaco, where at 110 the AI is almost two seconds slower than me in dry conditions without a setup. This is a very serious issue and discourages me from starting a career mode — it needs to be fixed immediately.

  • I tried Canada in GP mode with full assists (except steering) and found the AI in the wet was 1.0 seconds faster than in the dry compared to the times I was posting.

  • True. Main problem I noticed is that the AI are unbelievably fast on straights, but terribly slow in corners. Hence why they are so slow in Monaco.

Yes, they are too slow in the dry, but in wet conditions I think they are too fast, even for 110.

I can assure you that the difficulty level in the wet at 110 is a good level for those who race at a high level — I have proof of it. I believe the dry difficulty needs to be rebalanced, as it's too slow compared to the wet, and it should be brought up to the same standard.
Obviously, for those who are about a second off the pros, once this issue is fixed in this way, they'll need to play at around 100/103 with a proper setup.

To sum up, there are two problems:

    1. Dry difficulty is too easy.

    2. As a result, there's a disparity when using the same difficulty level in the wet — but the solution here shouldn't be to lower the wet difficulty, rather to raise the dry difficulty to match it.

This isn’t so much a comment about the bug although I completely agree but just wondering because I have read so many different things, does the update just not go on to your existing career mode? Or do u just not want to start one because you know you’ll beat them easily?

(Please no snarky comments as some people do. Just a person trying to get information/help.)

They really need to buff AI in Dry conditions to make it match to the Wet conditions

I race in 105 difficulty but my real pace should be around 95 like in F1 23

I hope they’re gonna fix the problem ASAP because it can ruined the career or my team modes

shazzalady13, if it works like previous years any AI changes would get applied to save games. If it is a driver performance change you will probably be given the option to apply it to a current save or not, otherwise it will be applied if you restart a career.

  • Having come off a wet/dry race in Spain, I found I was lagging behind in the wet and on pace in the dry. I don’t car how the rebalance it, I’ll adjust my AI value, I just would like to see it balanced. This happens every year, and the one year they had it right, they patched the balance away.

It is the reason I keep asking to be able to toggle weather off since they never get the balance right.

As an aside, Spain started on inters for the whole field despite the track looking dry, no rain falling, the engineer saying no rain expected and dry tires are the best option. But if you pitted for softs you fell 3 seconds off the pace.

It appears that this might be because off tyre temps. I can actually catch them when the tyres are warmed up, something that takes ca 3 laps. Still doesnt matter becvause they fly away on the straights

Thank you AEF251. I thought that was the case but I’ve read things that say you need to start a new game and I was like huh🤨.
