Ai still feeling stupidly quick on straight line speed

Started a career mode at 89 difficulty and even using ers Overtake, the AI are still catching me, even out of drs. Additionally, even using medium ers, it still has zero effect on keeping some form of gap. Feels like regardless how clean and neat I do a lap, the AI still closes the gap in insane time. It feels like ers just has no effect at all to combat and defend regardless what mode I have it in.

Could you please have another look because it feels like I'm playing on the highest difficulty with how quick they catch me.

Thats fine for you to say they are never gonna fix it and you abandoned the game, but you gave a brilliant example as to way it needs fixing. The 2026 year is gonna be added to this year game, and is fundamentally gonna be completely different as we don't have drs anymore. Its all gonna be active aero. They have to look at the speed of the AI to change and adapt for the 2026 addition of the game. It can't stay the same, the game won't function. I'd rather them look at it now, lower the ai and then get to the addition of the 2026 year and them up it rather then struggling for 2 years with ai that don't match the scaling system of the game.

At the end of the day I'd rather the dev team see there's an issue rather then not say anything and refuse to play a game I do enjoy playing, especially with friends. Constructive criticism is better then no criticism.

  • They're not going to fix it. I abandoned this game a long time ago. And to think that next year it'll still be the same game.

  • that's true. Me, DRS open, ERS full overtake mode, wing 3 points down than the basic setup, and the AI WITHOUT DRS is still faster than me! Also the AI looks like it has infinite ERS... That's game breaking!
Also, in the other theard it was marked that "ai too fast in the wet" issue is solved, and comments on the bug report are locked. But it's definitely not solved. When in the dry conditions I use 100% AI and I am similar pace to them, on the wet, I have to use 80% and they are still faster!

I partially agree. On some tracks, AI is still very unbalanced. Most notably: Imola. The AI drivers take the "slow in, fast out" a little bit too serious :p

AI still takes corners very weird, and it's very easy to spot that on the formation lap. When accelerating out of corner on formation lap, you suddenly need to put pedal to the metal to stay with the car in front of you.

But that's not all of AI's problems.

AI will often not take any avoiding actions when you spin out on a corner. IT WILL slam into you and often suffer no consequences. Or it will clip your rear and spin you out, but it will not get any damage from touching you.
It's very easy for the AI to spin player out, but it's often nearly impossible to spin out a bot, they just keep on driving.

AND AI usually gets no penalties. Meanwhile if they touch you - you get a warning. If they push you out - you get a warning for track limits

Career mode is very fun in F1 25, but the unnatural AI behaviour just ruins it. I only played F1 18 before, and I feel like it had better AI, better handling and force feedback.

  • This game is terrible. And to make matters worse, this game will continue into 2026.

  • I would also like to additionally add that even being in the drs of the ai who's in first place and no drs, they are still pulling away even when I have drs open and ers on whilst on the straights as well
