The brightness of the game is so high that the game is unplayable, gamma settings are locked and no way to fix. (Xbox Series X)

To anyone having this issue.
Uninstall the game (just the game - be very careful here) and reinstall. Progress is saved (on mine at least)!
This will allow you to go through the Gamma settings again. I left mine at 100 (default).
I am now able to see the track correctly even though the Gamma settings is still locked (until they fix it). At least now I can play the game!!!!
Try turning off HDR. That may unlock the gamma setting. It did on my PS5. Hope this works for you.
