I figured that the engineer says the decimal of a gap only. If, for instance, the gap to the car ahead is 2.3s, the engineer would say "point three seconds" without naming the "two".
There's a similar problem in the buildup to a race, in China Crofty said about a driver he would start at "zero" (instead of the real grid place).
I have this issue as well. Seems the first digit of a time gap is left out for some reason.
It has also happened to me many times, it does not say correctly the time that separates you with another pilot or with your partner. I play with the audio in Spanish in case it has something to do with it.

Yep same problem on PS5. Another bug I noticed when you press R1 to bring up the race engineer chats when you select update on car behind the race engineer Marc will not respond.
I have the same issue in Italian, I also play on PS5. It seems it happens in multiple languages.
Yeah, it happens a lot.
E.g. "The gap is 15.4 seconds" becomes "The gap is .4 seconds".
Sometimes it happens with laptimes as well, e.g. when asking for teammate status, "Last laptime was a 1:36.7" becomes "Last laptime was a .7".
Can confirm this on PS5. There is already a thread about it here. There are several problems with the Team Radio this year.

The funniest thing is that only in Grand Prix mode, Marc just throws in random numbers. He is not referring to any gap, or laptime, or anything. I'm just driving my car, and he suddenly says "29", and that's all.
I had this on Xbox but the 1.3 patch fixed it
