Game launched triple screen, then never again

On first launch the game detected my triple screens, blacked out the left and right, and ran through controller setup on the center screen. However, this only took place the first time, never again. Now it only launches on the center screen, and there's no perceived way to get it to use triples again.

The ONLY way I can find to support triple screen is with third party tools or ini file edits. There is no built-in support for wraparound game visuals. I have triple screens and the game only allows me to choose:

Fullscreen
Fullscreen (borderless)
Windowed

In all of these options, I have to choose monitor 1, 2, or 3.

The resolution options also never offer anything but the detected single-monitor resolutions, meaning I can choose any 16:9 resolution, but nothing "ultrawide". Again, this is also true of windowed.

I sure hope the "official support" for wraparound doesn't involve Resize Racoon or delving into an ini to manually input resolutions.

Worth noting this is completely separate from the DLSS crashes. The DLSS crashes are only an issue if I manually force the game to be triple screens with Resize Raccoon. The game launched with triples and DLSS just fine for that initial boot.

Same issue, but my game never launched on all 3 screens on my rig, and there are zero settings anywhere to be found for triple screen configuration.

I second...I really hope "triple screen support" isn't "turn on nvidia surround and we'll stretch/distort the image".  We've been able to do that for years with 3rd party software.  If that's the case, I'll be refunding.

  • Have you tried deleting the hardware_settings_config.xml? Do it with the game closed.

This is in the My Documents\My Games\F1 25\hardwaresettings folder.

I did try that last night, but no luck. It seems to "re-profile" the monitors the next time I launch and makes them all flicker and try different resolutions, but then it returns to the game ONLY being on the middle screen, and the others go back to being desktop.

This evening I'm going to attempt to delete hardware settings, but I've also fully uninstalled the game and reinstalled it to see if that happens to do something.

Same, does nothing.  The fact that there are zero settings anywhere for this leads me to believe we were either lied to about "support" or it's simply not in the game yet.  I'm hoping it's the latter...

Adding that I got it to "work" by re-installing. Disabling DLSS, Frame Generation, Path Tracing, Ray Tracing. Setting to Windowed mode. Using Resize Raccoon to adjust window resolution and remove borders.

The left and right screens are still stretched/distorted messes, completely making the side mirrors pointless. They're also warped enough it doesn't help to look into turns because the scaling is off. So its only good for a feeling of speed, but the stretch means that feeling of speed also isn't accurate.

13900K, 64GB DDR5, and 4090 and the best I'm able to get with all of these settings off on 4K 120 monitors and LOW settings is 50 FPS, with a fair amount of frame drops to the 30s. Compared to other simulators where I can get a locked 60 on high settings at the very least, if not more, its a little disappointing. For example, on DCS with gigantic maps and view distance I'm still often getting 70-80 FPS.

It would be acceptable for a proper triple screen experience, but the fact it is poorly implemented and adds next-to-no value is a shame. Really hope this changes with DLSS and maybe some performance patches. The fact there's not even in-game settings to input a custom window resolution or remove borders is a HUGE miss when it was effectively marketed as a supported feature. External software that forces it is hardly a "supported" feature.

Yeah, that is not "support".  If that is really what they're expecting us to do, I will refund.  This is no different than years past.

Refunded...  Shame they basically lied about it, or at a minimum were extremely misleading.
