Can't Sprint in Career mode

Iv'e been playing the game for a couple years now and have never seen this happen. While in a career mode game my players cannot sprint with or without the ball. I discovered this problem with a player career using Jhon Duran. Cant play the game and have tried switching the dificulty and my controls to see of that would fix the problem. Please help EA.

    can yoou please help me how to fix this? im having this since ea fc 25 and im on ea fc 26 now

    im playing career mode on pc and i cant run? im using a ps controller but i hold down sprint R2, and noone runs - ONLY if you have the ball, off the ball the sprint works
