Career Mode Bug Coach Boosts Not Applied at Match Start – Must Reapply In-Game
In FC 25 Manager Career Mode, when using a preset tactic (e.g., Wing Play, Counter Attack) with matching coach styles, the expected player attribute boosts do not apply at the start of matches
The only way to activate the boosts is to pause the game, go to Tactics, and reapply the same preset tactic manually. After doing this, the boosts immediately appear and player stats improve.
This issue occurs every match, even though the correct tactic is selected pre-match and coaches are properly assigned.
Steps to Reproduce:
- In Manager Career Mode, assign coaches whose styles match a preset tactic (e.g., Wing Play)
- Apply the matching preset tactic and save it.
3. Start a match (play, not simulate)
4. Once in the match, pause and check player boosts — they are missing.
5. Go to Tactics → Reselect the same preset tactic → Now the boosts appear.
I am on XBOX SERIES X
This bug was also present in FC 24 and still affects FC 25. It impacts Career Mode immersion and forces repetitive manual action to get expected gameplay performance.
I have been a Career mode player now for over 10 years and have found this year's addition to be the most tedious of all years, I've found the tactics and roles to be very restrictive
I hope next years edition will be a long awaited improvement to career mode as I find myself losing passion for a game mode I once adored so much
