I may have found a hack to solve this:
- every time you made change to your squad, quit FUT
- go to settings, delete the UT profile
- re-enter FUT, download the squad update
- start a sqb game without making any change to your squad.
- continue playing as long as you don’t make change to your squad.
- if you make any change again, delete the profile and enter FUT, download the squad update again.

you might be on to something here mate. I had these crash issues for a long while, since like November or so 1-3 games every week. 2 weeks ago I saw something on reddit and the tip was to play the SB games on the old gen version of the game ( i am on PS5, so i had been playing the SB games on the PS4 version of the game) and it seemed to have worked. I didn't DNF any sb games and ended up reaching Elite 1.
But just 10 mins ago, doing the same usual thing, my first game (luckily the Fantasy team so it can be replayed) had crashed after scoring the 3-0 goal, on PS4 game, and the only difference is I actually changed my team. Both formation and 2 players to do an objective. And I can tell you that I haven't changed my team for a long time now, it's been very much the same.I will test this theory for the following 14 games and see if it works and let you know.

What exactly do you mean by "UT profile"? Is it the Personal Settings or is it something else, I can't find anything related to what you suggested (might be me, just asking)
FC25 home screen -> top left corner settings -> profile -> delete -> UT squad update 1.
