Hey everyone,
I’m playing EA SPORTS FC 25 on PS5 (offline modes only – mainly Career Mode), and I’ve been noticing a very specific and frustrating issue for a while now.
At some point this winter (probably around the First Frost update), the game received a noticeable improvement in player movement animations. Passes, dribbling, ball control – everything became much smoother, more fluid and realistic. It was a big step forward, and you could really feel the difference.
However – here’s the strange part:
These improved animations don’t always seem to be active. Every time I launch the game, it’s like a coin flip – sometimes the game loads with the new, smooth animations and everything feels amazing… and other times it just doesn’t. The game works, input is fine, framerate is stable – but the animations look and feel like the older, more rigid ones. The players move differently, as if a different animation set is being loaded.
What’s even weirder:
For a while, restarting the game sometimes fixed it – I’d relaunch and get the “good” animations again. But in the past couple of weeks, even that stopped working. Now I’m almost always stuck with the worse version.
Important notes:
- This happens offline – no Ultimate Team, no online matchmaking.
- It’s not a lag or framerate issue.
- It’s not input delay.
- It seems purely related to animation packages or whatever logic decides how the game “loads in” movement behavior.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Could this be some kind of bug with how animation sets are applied on startup?
Any help or even acknowledgment from others would be appreciated – I haven’t found anyone else describing exactly this.
Thanks in advance!
