If you are referring to positions under team management, it has always been a problem since FC24. Even evo players don't show new positions there. But if you check the familier roles section of your card under team management, your player will have correct roles as per shapeshiftter and evolutions.

No, you can use Shapeshifters in your Starting XI or as a substitute as usual.
What I'm trying to explain is: only the position is shown as incorrect. Your card will have the correct roles. See the attached examples:
- Immobile's Shapeshifter is in the Starting XI, but the position is still shown as ST, though its roles are correct for a Shapeshifter.
- Grealish's Shapeshifter is in the subs (substitutes), and the positions are shown as LW, LM, but its roles are correct for a Shapeshifter.
If you're experiencing something else, please attach a screenshot so we're on the same page.My bad sanket_360, I should have noticed that. Honestly, I never even look at the roles or anything else during the pause menu, just make substitutions and resume. I already have all my different tactics prepared, and my subs planned, so when I saw that I immediately thought there was a problem and didn't investigate at all.
