Platform: PlayStation 5
Bug Description:
After playing a Youth Tournament game in Manager Career Mode, a major audio bug is triggered. The only sound that remains in the game afterward is the soundtrack music and crowd noise — all other audio is completely missing. This includes:
- The EA Sports intro sound
- All in-game commentary
- Any cutscene dialogue or sound effects
Upon investigation, I discovered that after playing a youth tournament match, the “Music Always On” setting is automatically enabled, even though I never turned it on. Disabling this setting manually in the Audio settings restores the sound back to normal. However, this has to be done after every youth match.
Additional Notes:
- I do not have screenshot or video evidence, but I was able to reproduce the issue consistently just by playing a youth tournament match.
- These matches also appear to have a noticeably darker lighting tone, which could indicate a separate lighting bug or potentially be related to the audio issue.
- Restarting the game or console does not fix the issue unless the setting is manually corrected.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Start a new Manager Career Mode.
- Play a Youth Tournament match (the pre-season youth showcase).
- After the match, return to the menus or start another game.
- You’ll notice that you cannot hear the coaches in the background or even the ball contact.
- Go to Audio Settings — “Music Always On” will be toggled ON, even if you had it OFF before.
- Toggle it OFF to restore normal audio.
Expected Result:
Audio settings should remain unchanged after a youth match, and full audio (commentary, cutscenes, etc.) should remain intact.
Actual Result:
After youth matches, “Music Always On” is forced ON, overriding other audio channels and breaking in-game sound.
