Unlocked items not working in Pro Clubs

I've unlocked some new boots through tournaments and finishing in Elite on Pro Clubs rush, but when I equip them in the "Edit Appearance" section, they revert to default items. For example if I equip the holiday boots and save my changes, when I go back to the Pro Clubs menu the boots are reverted to black. Similar with the unlocked hair style, saving those changes reverts me back to what I had before.
