There is a major bug in franchise mode with the new contract extension screen. The game is using "cap outlook" when it calculates extension $ remaining.
The problem is, that this "cap outlook" is based on every single one of your contracts (so including every two-way contract on your AHL team) + its calculated with no salary cap rise.
So for example if you have 10 two-way contracts with 900k AAV on your AHL team, you will basically have 9 mil less in your cap space for next year (for signing extensions).
This is not the way it is in real life (for salary cap purpose) and I dont think this was the case in previous NHL games - two-way contracts in your AHL team shouldnt count towards salary cap.
I have some screenshots to prove it:
#1: cap space for this year is 4.725M (which is correct, based on salary cap and projected spent)
#2: cap space for next season is 7.350M (which is also corrent, based on salary cap and projected spent...)
#3: Here is the problem - new contract extension screen and extension $ remaining (which is based on cap outlook). Why it is only 2.415M (4.935M less than on previous screen)? For two reasons - reason one is because cap outlook doesnt count for salary cap rise (which is expected to be 750k in this case). And reason number two is on next two screenshots.
#4 and #5: I have only five players (well four and one goalie) under contract for next year "in the system". Problem is, the CAP OUTLOOK counts all of these players as if they are on my roster. Its the remaining 4.185M we are missing...
And this is what is wrong with the new contract extension screen in franchise mode. Thank you for your time and hopefully this can be patched ASAP.
