Cannot export clips - disconnected

I can no longer export clips which is very annoying as I like to make them. I can login, connect, and start skating from Steam as normal; however, whenever I try to export a clip (after having taken time to keyframe and edit them..) I get this error:

This happens after the count down: 3, 2, 1 - then the clip does not start recording and I disconnect. I did install protonVPN around the time it stopped working, but have since uninstalled that, reinstalled skate, and restarted my computer multiple times. PLEASE HELP!
