I tried to complete the Transition Skating 101 mission, in which there's an objective called "Complete the AR Program". One of the steps includes grabbing the board with L2 first, and then R2. L2 performs the board grab, but R2 doesn't do anything for me. I can't get past this mission. The button works fine for rolling without the board in the game, and also works fine for other games, so I'm pretty sure it's a bug in Skate. I play on PC, through the Epic Games app.

On PS five you have to go into your system settings then choose controller. From there you go to controller accessibility and you choose custom button layout. From there, you will switch L to NR 2. Go back to the game and do the board grab. Then you will have to go back into settings and switch the buttons again and do the board grab again. You will be good to go after that.
I'm on PS5 and made a custom controller layout (Controller Settings, Scroll down to Controllers[Accessibility], Custom Button Assignments) and just switched R2 to R1 and L2 to L1. I've been getting used to using those buttons for skate, then when I'm going on another game I just switch them back. It's not a complete fix but at least I can play and do tricks which require double grabs whilst EA some how fixes the issue.

I FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(That does not involve getting a new controller.)
If you can do this on other apps - cool. But this worked on steam for me.
1. Download SKATE on STEAM. (I came from EA - everything transferred.)
2. Go find SKATE in the library then RIGHT CLICK the game.
3. Click - Manage > Controller Layout
4. Click "Edit Layout" - Go to Triggers
5. By "Right Trigger Behavior", click the settings icon.
6. In "Analog Output Trigger" (should say Right Trigger) - Change the "Trigger Range End" to 25000 (or whatever works best for you.)
<3 Good luck!i have the same problem as many many others, i had the same problem in the early alpha and open beta, i reported the problem on both versions and now when its out i have the same problem. im using a dualshock 4 controller, my controller isnt broken as my character crouches to pump but does not grab the board.

Yeah RT not working for me for grabs. When off the board it works for forward roll but cannot do grabs at all. Playing on Steam with ROG Ally Z1 Extreme
It's weird, but I can press the LT button hard to complete the task after I configured
same but both of the triggers dont work while on the board if its off board it works i can roll how to fix?
