Handplant score bug

Not sure if this is supposed to happen, but  considering the amount of points it gives U, I doubt it. I was watching a buddy of mine play the Early Access of Skate on PC, and whenever he would handplant in the middle of a line, he'd get an EXCELLENT trick and his line score would basically double. I've tried to do it myself but it never happens. Only gives me CLEAN trick. I've seen his score go from 40k to 80k to 120k to 200k all from doing handplant after handplant.
