No matter what I try and where I look I can't find a single thing to fix this. When launching the game with my controller plugged in and all my drivers updated, there is nothing telling me I don't have a controller plugged in. I'm only given keyboard prompts. When I try inputs on my controller, nothing happens. After I get through creating my character, I have to move to go get a skateboard. It prompts me with the "L" in a circle for 'left joystick' and when I try to do anything on my controller the camera looks down like its being held there by an invisible controller. When I try to use the same controller, port, cord, etc. on any other EA game, they also have unworking or buggy controller inputs. When I try to launch these EA games through Steam, the controller still doesn't work. When I use the controller on OTHER GAMES outside of EA, it works perfectly fine like there's nothing wrong with it. What the hell. This is an exclusively EA problem. Am I not allowed to play EA games? I just want to play the skate playtest, I haven't been able to for months. Please help or just tell me it won't work so I can stop getting my hopes up.
Try to unplug your keyboard while your controller on.
No Controller Detection on PCI've been trying to bring attention to this issue for months but havent seen any effort by the Skate team to actually find a solution.
I get the same problem, controller works everywhere but in Skate. Only my keyboard is recognized by Skate. My keyboard (Lemokey) is connected to my PC through my monitors built in KVM switch (not sure if the KVM has anything to do with the bug). If I unplug my keyboard dongle entirely I can get it to recognize my controller. But I shouldnt have to do that everytime I want to play. Just give us a way to change our controller input source in game. This has kept me from playing the playtest at all these months and I love the Skate series. I just fire it up every now and then to see if the bug is fixed and everytime its the same thing, no controls.
