same for me i have to unplug my keyboard on the main screen then it picks up the controller than i plug keyboard back in, its been like this for ages, since i have been in the playtest , the joypad is - Sony PlayStation DualSense Wireless Controller Midnight Black for PlayStation 5 . im using it wired on pc - just to add i have the speakers and mic disabled in windows sound settings

hi, i just tried Hydro-Kilo method and it did not work for me :(
EA_cuervo no joy for me. xbox one controller on a windows 11 pc, working absolutely fine with minimal issues for me until the 0.27.5 update, at which point the game refuses to recognise my controller.
turning off my keychron v1 max or logitech g305 does absolutely nothing outside of being annoying. uninstalling & reinstalling does not work, repairing does not work.
incredibly frustrating and honestly running out of stuff to try.
EDIT: found a "workaround" that allows me to actually use my controller like i could in every other build of the game! i have to go to windows settings, physically uninstall my keyboard a few times AND THEN the game will finally allow me to use a controller, this REALLY is not a workaround, and honestly kinda insane that it was fine for several months up until the most recent update.
EDIT 2 - ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: I've found a way to keep my keyboard installed whilst still having my controller detected. turns out that some 2.4ghz dongles seem to wanna be HID-compliant game controller - this is BAD. I disabled the HID compliant game controller that my keyboard dongle kicks up. now i can use my keyboard and still play with a controller.
ANYONE USING A WIRELESS KEYBOARD VIA 2.4GHZ AND IS FACING ISSUES TRY TO DISABLE THE CORRECT HID COMPLIANT GAME CONTROLLER IN THE HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES SECTION OF THE DEVICE MANAGER! this also solved the "perma roll" and "showing PS buttons when using a xbone controller" issues. might be worth it to put out a little notice for anyone that is hitting this issue?
I can confirm this fixes it. Has been an issue for me for the past two play tests.
I disconnected my keyboard and it works for like 10 seconds.
