uninstalled it bc i forgot you need it to play thru steam, now i get error code: 1478078408 every time i launch even tho i have reinstalled the EA app. ive verified game files thru steam, uninstalled/reinstalled Javelin AC, restart game, reset modem, nothing works.

thanks, i had actually managed to fix it by logging into my other steam account, booting up the game, then swapping back to my original account. thank you for the detailed response🙏

Hey there, thanks for explaining everything you've already tried.
This error is generally related to the game being unable to connect to EA services. Since this started after reinstalling the EA app, could you please try refreshing the EA app connection first:
- Sign out of both Steam and the EA app.
- In the EA app, go to Menu > Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache.
- Restart your PC.
- Open the EA app first and sign back into the EA Account you normally use with skate.
- Check your EA Account's Connected Accounts page and make sure your Steam account is still linked to the correct EA Account. Please don't unlink anything.
- Open Steam again and try launching skate.
I'd also recommend temporarily allowing the EA app, skate. and EA Javelin AntiCheat through your Windows Firewall/antivirus in case the EA app reinstall caused one of them to be blocked.
If you're still getting the same error after that, please try launching the game using a different connection, such as a mobile hotspot. This can help us determine whether the issue is coming from the local network or from the EA app/account connection.
