Game completely fails to run
I would like to report a bug, I bought a Steam Deck excited to play the game, and the game completely fails to run. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Own the game and have spent money buying in-game cosmetics 2. Install the game on Steam Deck 3. Press “Play” Expected Result: The game runs, and I can see the in-game cosmetics I purchased for USD Actual Result: The game does not run, so the money I spent is wastedGame is set to 640x480 whenever I log in.
As the title says, every time I logged in, the game would set to 640x480 no matter what and the game wont let me save my graphic settings for some reason even I pressed apply mutliple times. (Everything's on ultra and 1920x1080 with the latest game update installed.) Before 0.29 or the Character visual overhaul, it worked fine but it's getting annoying and could affect my gameplay experience if the problem persist. After replicating the issue and the solution, I managed to fix it permanently. (**However, I cant guarantee it will work for anyone's case though. ) Here's what I did; Set desired resolution (Eg. 1920x1080) Do not press apply. Switch to "borderless fullscreen" then press apply. I noticed the "apply" button is gone. Exit and restart the game to see if the changes is made. There's another method but "this is a low chance rate"; Set the resolution to 640x480 and apply. Change it to 1920x1080 but press cancel instead. It will visually revert back to the lowest resolution. (640x480) Select 1920x1080 again BUT switch to "borderless fullscreen" instead. Press apply. You'll notice the "apply" button is gone. Exit and restart the game to see if the changes is made. I read that this issue was "fixed" in the latest update, but I am sad to report that this is untrue. My game always launched is 640x480 now. The game only loads this resolution AFTER it loads my config. In the initial menu, where you can hit Start, my resolution is 1920x1080 (normal). When I try changing my config and applying the changes, no matter how many times I reapply the changes or switch successfully between Fullscreen and Borderless, the changes remain unsaved. Sometimes the message warning me of unsaved messages does not appear, but they remain apparently unsaved and stuck on 640x480. I am completely unable to save changes to my graphics settings that are respected when I restart the game. Things I've tried: 1. Removing %LocalAppData%/Skate, the local directory for configs, saves, and exports. This appeared to slightly improve performance, but does not fix the settings bug. 2. Verifying the integrity of game files on Steam. When I do this, the game consistently fails to validate exactly 3 files. These three files WILL verify if I check game integrity immediately after downloading them. HOWEVER, after launching the game exactly ONCE, *every time*, they will become broken, fail to validate, and be reacquired. Tested many times in a row. 3. Reinstalling the entire game AFTER clearing %LocalAppData%/Skate of all files and folders, hidden or otherwise. This reset the game to Ultra Fullscreen, but as soon as I tried adjusting graphics settings, the game bugged again. 4. Updated my 4070 TI Super to 591.44, the latest Nvidia driver for my card. No change. 5. I briefly attempted despair, which also failed to prove itself useful. Also, during this process, I crashed multiple times, so I am including a zip of my crash logs. (This update has been pretty rough. I really hope the game can survive this, because my community is losing more active players by the day.)Screen resolution is set to lowest setting every time I launch the game
Since the season 2 update, every time I launch the game or switch the server (when I join a friend) it sets the screen resolution to the lowest setting (320p or something). I have to change it back manually every single time (first set from borderless to fullscreen, then go back to 1080p, then go back from fullscreen to borderless). Anyone else? I’m launching the game via Steam. Everything looks fine, but the loading screen keeps going for about 3–5 minutes. Then the “Update Window” suddenly pops up. I press OK and nothing happens. After that, I get the ultimate black screen, which just stays there forever. I tried leaving it running for about an hour. I also tried running the game with the EA app — that doesn’t work either. So what the actual F is happening again? I am currently stuck in an endless loop that is preventing me from playing the game. I have tried to restart, uninstall, and exit the tutorial tip multiple times and nothing works. Launching the game immediately loads me back into the same loop and prevents me from exiting or playing the actual game. The voice tip that I’m looping on says “I’ll also keep it up to date with new challenges, tours, and other helpful things for finding your way around.” Any advice on how to get past this would be awesome as I’m really looking forward to playing the game. I and several others have seemingly encounted a bug where the replay editor is no longer exporting to the device as it says it does, ive had to manually record over clips to have saved to my system. This was working fine till the week before the update rolled out and now its not working at all. Please can this be addressed as I filled a big report out about this already
