Skate Don't Launch (Steam and EA)
I haven't been able to play the game in steam for several months, everything worked fine before that. When you start skate, an anti-cheat window pops up, loads, and the game closes. I tried all the guides, reinstalled the anti-cheat, the game, verify the files (steam shows about restoring some three files everytime), run as an administrator, deleted the skate folder in app data/local, I tried installing the game in the EA launcher, wrote the values -dx11 -windowed in the startup parameters. Nothing is working, please help me, I just want to play this game.
Visual glitch (mostly in menu)
For the last 3 days for some reason, the menu started glitching randomly. panels from one section blacked out in another section, visual "artifacts" and flickering, it makes the menu unusable, including the map, skater edit and objectives. I've tried turning V-sync on and off, verified game files 3 times, it doesn't happen in any other game, just Skate. GPU driver is up to date and hasn't been updated recently.
My Tasks under week and month reverted
I had a glitch first where I had reached over 100 3-trick sequences and it wasn't completing, so I refreshed the game, that task went back down to 85/100 and a bunch of my other tasks reverted to be uncompleted (the complete challenge goals ones and the 2000pts with a manual one in particular, but a few others reverted too.) I have been pplaying co-op with my husband and we were matched up in terms of the "challenge goals in a party" tasks, and his fully completed and stayed completed, so I know it should have completed for me too. I am particularly concerned that I won't be able to finish the zine in time because of the fact that all my weekly tix challenges are completed for this week, but didn't seem to count for the tasks. We play at the same time so at the very least our goal tasks should be the same. His week 9 "3 goals in a single challenge" is completed and mine went back to 8/15 His month "season 2 challenge goals" task is at 65/90, while mine is at 43/90.Tinny audio
Description of the issue: The audio in this game is usually excellent, but it got really tinny a couple updates ago. Steps to trigger/reproduce the issue: When launching the game, the audio playing during the initial Skate. logo and the beginning of the "Configuring..." loading screen sounds normal. Then partway through the "Configuring..." loading screen, the audio gets really tinny and stays that way when playing the game. Unplayable, Flickers
Since last week, the game has become unplayable. I can’t play any challenges because the UI/UX disappears as soon as I start one. Even outside of challenges, it still disappears or flickers constantly. It’s extremely annoying. I’ve tried verifying the game files and reinstalling the game, but nothing fixed it. I don’t think this is an issue with my PC, because other games run perfectly fine—only Skate is affected. It’s getting worse day by day.
Graphics Settings Fail to Save (NOT Duplicate)
I read that this issue was "fixed" in the latest update, but I am sad to report that this is untrue. My game always launched is 640x480 now. The game only loads this resolution AFTER it loads my config. In the initial menu, where you can hit Start, my resolution is 1920x1080 (normal). When I try changing my config and applying the changes, no matter how many times I reapply the changes or switch successfully between Fullscreen and Borderless, the changes remain unsaved. Sometimes the message warning me of unsaved messages does not appear, but they remain apparently unsaved and stuck on 640x480. I am completely unable to save changes to my graphics settings that are respected when I restart the game. Things I've tried: 1. Removing %LocalAppData%/Skate, the local directory for configs, saves, and exports. This appeared to slightly improve performance, but does not fix the settings bug. 2. Verifying the integrity of game files on Steam. When I do this, the game consistently fails to validate exactly 3 files. These three files WILL verify if I check game integrity immediately after downloading them. HOWEVER, after launching the game exactly ONCE, *every time*, they will become broken, fail to validate, and be reacquired. Tested many times in a row. 3. Reinstalling the entire game AFTER clearing %LocalAppData%/Skate of all files and folders, hidden or otherwise. This reset the game to Ultra Fullscreen, but as soon as I tried adjusting graphics settings, the game bugged again. 4. Updated my 4070 TI Super to 591.44, the latest Nvidia driver for my card. No change. 5. I briefly attempted despair, which also failed to prove itself useful. Also, during this process, I crashed multiple times, so I am including a zip of my crash logs. (This update has been pretty rough. I really hope the game can survive this, because my community is losing more active players by the day.) ________________________________________________ EDITED BY A CM: ❗ Workaround: Press Windows + R on your keyboard > Type: %localappdata% > Press Enter > Find the skate folder %localappdata%\skate\ > Delete or rename the folder.
