same exact problem with me, it used to just be that i would validate and be able to run the game again, but now it just kicks me out from menu every time. Even after validating the files over and over again.
What worked for me was, obviously I play on controller on pc, when I tried to get past the startup screen with controller I would get kicked out, when I again verified files, restarted pc, and then started skate with controller plugged it (cause of steam) but until I was actually able to skate I used my keyboard to load in
ohh and repairing Microsoft Visual C++ over settings>apps in windows and restarting helps if you also have memory leak issues like me with it
