So I'm not to far from just beginning the game and I'm being placed against players 3 million above. It's not even fun to play since there's zero chance of winning. If that's what I can expect moving...

I'm in a similar position, just with a different mindset. I see Grand Arena not as the ultimate goal of the game, but rather a good place to test my mettle against difficult opponents, while snagging some earnings in the process.
This game is a waiting game. Other games (most games I should say) measure their progress in hours or days. Some, like the Zelda games, may take months if you're playing casually. This game measures progress in years, even at the top of the leaderboards. Don't let one game mode of this game scare you away from the whole thing. Try Conquest, or find a fun guild, or maybe just focus on your favorite faction and upgrade them.
This game has a lot of different ways to play, so you don't need to stress GA.
Honestly, I figured saying like I'll quit and other people agreeing might light a fire under CGs @$$
