I think many might have the issue of not just waiting long enough. The task doesn't complete instantly once you click "view", you have to wait until the action is done i.e. until the sim stops doing it. It takes a short while.
Edit: but yes, it doesn't actually say "study historical displays" but instead "view" with Emits icon on it.
