I have the same issue!

Heya TrickeySimster and Aija_McDonald, 

Can you confirm that you have installed all available updates for The Sims 4? This event requires you to be on the latest base game version. 

It is not working for me either and I have latest patch, installed it few minutes ago.
It doesn't show up in my screen even I ran live mode for few mins, nothing shows up.

I'm having the same issue, despite my game being updated.

Thanks for confirming, have you also removed any mods you may have?

Yes, that was first thing I did when I see there was newest update, removed every single mods and mods folder being totally empty.
Still same problem.
