Going to university deletes collections

My Sim has completed almost all the collections, such as frogs, crystals, etc. However, when I sign my Sim up to get a degree and she lives on campus, my collection tab gets reverted back, meaning no collections are completed anymore. Weirdly enough, this doesn't happen when my Sim lives at home while getting her degree, only when living on campus. This bug is sooooooo annoying!
