Romantic Relationships decay/become negative fast with no interaction

I have this bug still, it is NOT fixed. It only affects some couples, but when it does it's so frustrating. The romance bar goes all the way down just over night! 

I'm own all the packs and I'm on Xbox Series X. I never experienced this issue until the SDX drop occurred on April 2nd, 2025. 

It started after playing a few in-game days with the Kahananui family in Sulani. This was a save that I started on March 20, 2025.

I edited both the husband's and wife's Turn-On's so all Romance Styles were positive. I would initiate a Romantic Interaction between the married couple. Interaction would be received positively and Romantic Satisfaction would increase, but the Romantic Relationship between the married couple decayed completely within seconds. 

First, a small pink bar would increase. Then the pink bar would instantly vanish and start turning red, ticking higher, maxing out the red bar completely. This happened repeatedly, even after the short-positive-romantic-interaction ended.

This really ruins Live Mode for me. I hope this gets addressed soon 😭

This issue has gotten worse for me recently, to the extreme.

I tested the severity by using the positive romantic relationship cheat. In the following screenshots, note the romantic relationship bar on Shawna and the in-game time. Over the course of about three in-game hours, the romance bar goes from fully positive to fully negative. No matter how many times I use the cheat to bring it back up to positive, it decreases at a consistently rapid rate.

(For those wondering why the Sim's legs and the alien infant are in the exact same place in both screenshots, it's because they're experiencing another, separate glitch that I get every now and then in which Sims just kinda stop doing stuff for a long while.)

Needless to say, I can't play this household anymore, which is extremely disappointing because it's a legacy challenge household and I'm three generations in. This glitch has occurred in every single household I have ever started for months and months now. I have been unable to find any workaround, cheats and mods included.

If this glitch doesn't get fixed, I will likely just drop the Sims 4 altogether. For someone like me, who focuses on the story aspect of the Sims, this glitch makes it utterly unplayable because all romantic relationships between Sims are doomed to fail. This thread has been going for nine months now, and seeing that there is no sign of improvement is disheartening. I am very grateful to the people who try to help with stuff like this, please don't misunderstand, but I feel I must stress the severity of this problem because it's gone on for so long.

Still an issue.  Removed the mod that blocked romantic satisfaction decay I used while waiting for a fix and back it sprung IMMEDIATELY.  My sims sat in the same house, full romance bar, one upstairs and one down.  One walked outside to converse with a neighbor and suddenly the romance bars are empty (no, there were no romantic actions between the sim and the neighbor, and their jealousy is not on anyway.)  This is ridiculous.  I rebuilt and repaired romantic satisfaction twice in one day, and then this.  But with a mod to actually disable a game play mechanic, things work just fine.  One should not have to wait this long for a bug to be fixed, nor should one have to have a third party mod to restore basic functionality.  "Remove your mods and tell us if it still happens" is understandable and necessary, but situations like this is why many of use them in the first place.

I haven't mods I 've got this issue.

The romance bar turns red and suddenly goes up and down for no reason.

I have been having this issue only since the most recent update. 

Update: this seems to be working still. I was able to get my sims engaged then I waited just in case… then I was still able to get married and then have a baby. So it’s working for me as of now. 

Will try your suggestion next time I'm in the game! 

This bug has really ruined the game for me. I no longer want to play, since I play rotationally and all of my sims are always Very Unsatisfied when I switch to their household, no matter what I do.  It's really depressing.

Please, give us a way to remove romantic satisfaction altogether if it's not possible to prevent it from tanking in inactive sims. This is not playable as it is.
