Bayou Bijou Collab Completed - World save and Part 4 video released!
Welcome to another builder's collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and me soocoolsim ! Introducing Bayou Bijou, a New Orleans / Louisiana inspired world featuring seven areas. Our collaboration has been a success. Thank you to all participants! BAYOU BIJOU BASE WORLD (empty lots) This is a flat vanilla world created by Hidehi2 and is very loosely based on New Orleans or anywhere in the Louisiana Bayou country. Included are French Quarter, Garden and City Districts, Beach and Farming areas and two Bayous. The base world includes a mix of 93 empty residential and community lots. Since a fully loaded Bayou Bijou includes many highly detailed builds, we recommend you adjust your in-game settings lower for optimal gameplay. Download and install the empty base world Download and extract the world save file Place the extracted folder under .... \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves before launching your game BACKGROUND (Edit! July 5/25 - The collab is complete. The following instructions are for reference only) Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. Edit! Effective Apr 15/25, after successfully uploading a completed cc-free build, participants may claim another lot if desired. However, max 2 claims in progress remains in place. Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed. See the Map listings for links to completed builds. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lot file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / thread. SIM / HOUSEHOLD SUBMISSIONS The focus of the collab is on builds as the final world game save will be unpopulated, however we can link to Sims / Households created for Bayou Bijou. Bayou Bijou builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as general (eg Townie) use. Non-builders can submit Sims / Households for general (eg Townie) use. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your Sim / Household file before uploading to double check. Once your Sim / Household is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name / map reference or address (or flag as Townie) / download link / 1 cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / showcase thread. Sims / Households created by participants for claimed builds will include lot addresses with their listings. Sims / Households created for potential use within Bayou Bijou but not associated with a specific build (eg Townies) will be listed under the heading of Auxiliary sims which players can place anywhere as desired. I’ve noticed a lot of players taking on legacy challenges in Newcrest, and while I initially had a similar idea, my story had evolved into something different. It started as a rags-to-riches challenge featuring a teenage sim named Phoebe Newcrest, who was "kicked out" of an orphanage when she turned 18... Now, I’m more of an Architect Simmer - focused on building and architecture in The Sims, and it has led me to drift away from family gameplay. To make gameplay more engaging, I've decided to embark on a 100 Baby Challenge to help populate Newcrest. Now, this next bit is going to seem a little sidetracked, but there is a point, I promise. I’ve always been a fan of "The Sims: Bustin' Out," and honestly, I wish EA would create a new version with more challenges that utilize the features of The Sims 4.... but that's a whole other can of worms so anyway to get back on topic; I thought it would be fun to have a 100 Baby Challenge where the children can grow up and start their own businesses, contributing to the growth of the town. The name "Newcrest" inspired me, and I remembered that in "Bustin' Out," the default last name was "Newbie," which I haven’t seen much of lately. So, I’m excited to reestablish the Newbie name and bring the Newbie's back into the spotlight! The Newbie's are here to establish NEWCREST! So, without further ado, let me introduce you all to Phoebe Newbie, our founding matriarch! (Modeled after my lovely self 😉) I have a YouTube channel, but I'm not sure if I'll upload anything yet. I'll keep you guys updated if I do, in case you want to see gameplay footage. As for the rules, I'm playing this on a normal lifespan. The only cheat I'll be using is bb.moveobjects. My goal is to try and have 100 babies in as few generations as possible, and the next matriarch or patriarch will be the favorite child of the bunch who has good sentiments with Phoebe.103Views3likes2CommentsMarsden Farm Challenge
I am playing my Farming Challenge with a Twist by PianoAshes. Each chapter will be published on Wednesdays at 14:00 Central Time [19:00 GMT - 20:00 GMT in the winter months] Loni and her father, Fred Marsden, fell on hard times after her mother, Eden, passed away. The medical bills took all of their savings. Fred fell ill and could no longer work. They were about to lose their home. In desperation, Fred called an old Army buddy, Tate Curley, in Appaloosa Plains. Tate bought them bus tickets and told them he had a place they could live and that they should come immediately. They packed what they could take on the bus, mainly clothing and footwear. Loni opened her dresser drawer and took out her grandmother's pearls. They were natural pearls with a unique purple color. She placed them on top of her clothes and closed the suitcase. Then she went into her father's room and helped him pack. The two suitcases were heavy, so she could only manage one at a time on the staircase. They called a taxi. The driver put the suitcases in the trunk while they got into the cab. It was a short drive to the bus station. The driver brought their suitcases inside near the loading door when they arrived. Loni went to the counter to get their tickets and two baggage tags to attach to their suitcases. It wasn't long before their bus was loading. Loni made two trips out to the bus with their luggage. They settle into two seats near the front of the bus. It was a long ride to Appaloosa Plains, so Loni had packed sandwiches and drinks in her backpack. Loni Marsden: Fred Marsden: Edited to add: 9722cce410c84e2a Loni's partner is Christian Payne, created by CravenLestat. He and Charlotte moved in with Loni to help with the farm. They ended up getting married. Christian and Charlotte are available on the exchange. CravenLestat also created Loni's Hedgehog shirt, which is available on the exchange. The shirt says: HEDGEHOGS WHY DON'T THEY JUST SHARE THE HEDGE? The hedgehog is saying NO. The model is Michell Forsythe from my Precious Joy Forsythe Family Legacy game.393Views4likes44CommentsBuild-n-Share #194 **Summer Designer Showdown** Due July 31, 2025
Welcome to BNS 194: Summer Designer Showdown! “Flavors of the World” – A Multicultural Festival This month, we’re celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our Sims’ world! Your challenge is to design a multicultural summer festival—a vibrant outdoor space where Sims from all walks of life can gather, eat, dance, and connect. The Brief: Budget: None this time Lot size: 20x20 or larger. Minimum of 4 food and drink kiosks or stalls (Use any combination of in-game or cc stalls, food carts, or vendor tables. Group them by region, theme them by color, or scatter them organically—your choice!) Outdoor eating area Must include seating for at least 8 Sims and some form of shade (umbrellas, pergolas, tents, etc.) Public restrooms These can be standalone or part of a larger structure, but they must be accessible from the festival grounds. Use any world or season. Add stages, splash pads, murals, or anything else that brings your festival to life. No indoor residential spaces (this is a public venue!) Don't leave the lot mostly empty. Optional: Share the in-universe story behind your festival. Who organized the festival? Is it a long-standing community tradition or a brand-new initiative? Are there any simmering rivalries between food vendors? Did someone forget to book the mariachi band? Optional Features (for extra flair): A performance space (stage, dance floor, or busking area) Cultural decor or themed zones (e.g., lanterns, papel picado, flags, murals) A kids’ activity area (playground, splash pad, or crafts) Custom signage or banners to name your festival. The Sim Challenge: None this time. The Room Challenge: None this time. Remember to include the hashtag #bns194 with your build so it can be found. Entries are due by Thursday, July 31st, 23:5:59 New York Time/EDT Patch Day Notice – July 1 Please note that a game patch is scheduled for today. If it causes significant mod or build issues, we’ll allow extra time for entries as needed. Build at your own pace—we’ll be here all month! Updated for Businesses and Hobbies. This is a legacy challenge where each generation represents a different letter, and must explore all of the game play starting with that letter: aspirations, collections, woohoo spots, reward store traits, you name it. I already have a thread for this challenge that has been updated through Crystal Creations. Since it was transferred from the old forum, it was very hard to update further. Ignore any objective related to a pack you don’t own. You can choose to skip a generation if your pack limitations leave it extremely short on content. I've removed two of the letters (Q, Y) from the challenge because they don't have much to do, even with all the packs. No cheat codes that help you move through your objectives faster. No rules about aging. No rules governing non-heirs. Just because one generation has something as an objective, doesn’t mean that other generations can’t do it for fun/convenience. If you don’t have at least three traits in the assigned letter, you have to randomize the rest. No self-discovery traits starting with a different letter. Each heir's name, and that of any pets they have, must begin with their letter. Likes and Dislikes: The heir can only have the likes/dislikes assigned to their generation. Color preferences are assigned when they age up to Child. From that point forward, all the heir's outfits will reflect their color preferences. If you decorate a space for them, you must consider their color preferences. Fashion and interior design preferences are assigned when they age up to teen (if you have those packs). From that point forward, all their outfits and decorated spaces will reflect their style preferences. Lot Traits and Challenges: The heir must have all of their assigned lot challenges equipped in all of their designated residences. If the heir has three assigned lot traits or less, they also must be assigned. If the heir has four or more lot traits, they have to change up which three are in play. The heir's transitional aspirations (the ones that decide the bonus traits) have to be aspirations from their generation, unless they don't have two aspirations. At the start of the challenge, the Gen 1 "founder" will be a toddler, so you will need to give them at least one parent. I started another legacy. This one begins on an abandoned, run-down farm in Alryne Valley. This lot is available in my Studio on the Sims 3 Exchange. My name is Jade Fields. I am from Bridgeport, but I hate city life. It was crowded, and the air quality left much to be desired. I moved to Alryne Valley about a week ago and have been renting a room at TexanSky Lodge. It is a stark contrast to Bridgeport. I think I'll be happy here. The climate is pretty mild. The spring and fall are nearly twice as long as the winter, and the summer is longer than the spring and fall combined. The entire year is 7 moon cycles long. I have always dreamed of owning a nectary. Last week, I visited a run-down piece of land in the hills outside of town. I was shocked at how dilapidated it was, but it should be worth at least §70,000 once it's cleaned up. I am ready and willing to do the work. A wind turbine on the property supplies electricity to the buildings. The biggest selling point was the Nectar Making Machine in the barn. The previous owners said that it works, but I have my doubts. Once I grow some grapes, I will find out for sure. I'm glad that I am handy. I might be able to coax it back to life. I purchased the property at auction for §15,000. I have named it Fields of Gold. Edited: Her traits are that she is a great kisser, loves the outdoors, is a natural cook, has a green thumb, and is a cat person. She likes fruit parfait, Classical music, and Irish green. I changed one trait to green thumb, but the rest were traits she was assigned. And, of course, I gave her Bottomless Nectar Cellar for her Lifetime Wish. I started this one for a different change of pace and, of course, took pictures, and now it's turned into a story. I'm unsure if I can keep up with four stories, but I will try. Introduction: The Ultimate Legacy Challenge is from Mod the Sims, and the rules can be found here. It is based on the original Legacy Challenge - rules here. I started with an empty lot and zero Simoleons. To build on the lot, my Sim must "pay" City Hall §1,000 for the property. Generation One has a grand value limit of §1,000 per item sold, meaning my Sim cannot sell any individual item of value greater than §1,000 until later generations. I already had the Taxi Charge mod and the No Fridge Shopping mod, and added the other mods suggested in the Ultimate Legacy Challenge rules to make things more difficult. And on with the story...117Views0likes7Comments👽 Miller Legacy 🛸
Sul sul fellow simmers! The Miller Legacy is my first Legacy Challenge and the way I found to explore the (for me) new The Sims 4 game in the moment I decided to buy it. It's the translation of what I originally posted in Italian here, and the new chapters are being posted on my blog here. I'd also like to point out that this legacy is currently being shared also on the parallel Sim Creative forum. This small forum has practically the same template as the old one and is not buggy, making it a very cozy place where to share the old conversations we used to have in the former Creative corner. I suggest you to give it a look! ;) Back to the introduction, with this legacy I'm basically novelizing what happens when I'm playing my game, introducing as many mysteries and issues to overcome for my sims as I can. For sure, the Miller's are not a family like the others. I'm not a fan of too strict gaming rules, thus my main rule is just: "reach generation 10 without cheating". This legacy is definitively more story-driven than rules-driven. So I'm not taking track of points in any way, often instead of choosing traits or careers randomly I choose what I think would be funnier for me to play or better for the story progression, I often move the family to new houses (not built by me because I'm a horrible builder) and so forth. In particular, I'm taking a lot of freedom about a certain cat, but also in that case I found a way for doing it without technically being cheating. As for the heir, I don't follow a strict rule but just choose the one for which I can imagine the best character development and who can give more in terms of story progression. The only rule I'm following in that sense is that I want every heir to be the biological child of the previous heir, because I'm curious to see how the genetics algorithm in TS4 work over a 10 generations span (consider this as a small experiment :P ). The full story index (beware, it's long!) can be found HERE. I'm closing this premise here because I don't want to spoil the story, so I wish you a pleasant reading through the most mysterious sides of this game ;)12KViews4likes771Comments
