One Month One World One Year Challenge 2026
Hello and welcome. :) This challenge was started by Karababy52 (see more here) and I would like to continue it on for another year if I can. Hopefully more people can join in. The more the merrier! The premise of this challenge is pretty simple. The goal is to post one in-game screenshot once a day during the 2026 year. So, kind of like a 365 project for your sims. You will start out with a teen sim and pick your starting world. I'll share a list of suggestions, but really you can pick whatever you want. Your sim will be a teen for 3 real world months, then age-up to Young Adult in April. They will spend 4 months as a Young Adult, then age-up to Adult in July. They will spend 4 more months as an Adult, then age-up to Elder in December. Each month your sim will move to a new world to explore. I've taken all the rules and guidelines here and copied them over from Karababy52's 2023 post and edited them slightly. Rules/Guidelines: One screenshot post per real life day in this thread with a short text summary. One world per real life month - See monthly schedule of worlds in spoiler below. Optional: May change schedule of worlds to reflect your preferences. Your challenge Sim MUST be a teen to officially begin this challenge and post in the thread. Exception: If you are starting the challenge late, you may begin in the current month at whatever age the challenge is at, or you may start as a teen to quickly finish your aspiration and school, then fast forward to the current age. (Example - if you start in April you may hurry through the teen stage and age up to YA, or just start as YA). After three real life months have passed, your Sim will age up to young adult for four months, adult for four months and finally, age up to an elder for December. Timeline posted in spoiler below. Optional: How long your Sim stays in each life stage, teen-elder, is at your own discretion. However, they are required to be at minimum a young adult to attend Uni in Britechester. *Note: If you own the High School Years EP, your Sims may be offered early graduation. If they take the offer, your teen is allowed to apply, enroll, and attend university or join full-time adult careers. Begin Rags to Riches style on an empty lot with 0 simoleons. Optional: Use the 20,000 starting simoleons to buy a starter home and furnish it how you want. Aging off. Optional: May use long lifespan. All unplayed residential worlds are off limits for any kind of travel. Exception: Newcrest may be designated a 'neutral' world to place venues for your Sim to use regardless of their current world residence. Optional: Newcrest may be used to replace a pack you don't own instead. Optional: Your sim may travel to other worlds not used in the challenge if they get an invitation. Sims may take a vacation to any of the designated vacations worlds. Rental lots in unplayed residential worlds are off limits. Aspirations released with a world must be fulfilled first. May choose a base game or other pack aspiration not in the challenge to complete afterward. Optional: Only one aspiration released with a world must be completed before choosing base game or other pack aspirations. Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade may be used in substitution for worlds listed in the challenge for packs you may not own. In that event, choose one or two base game or other packs aspirations not in the challenge to complete per world. Your Sim may marry and/or have children. Aging up children is at your own discretion. High School attendance is not required. May use cheats to fulfill daily/promotional task requirements. *Exception: Applicable only if you do not own the High School Years EP or if you do own it, but have elected not to have your Sim live in Copperdale and do the aspirations associated with the EP in your challenge. The beginning of each new month/world starts Rags to Riches style. Optional: Your Sim may keep everything they have accumulated and use their funds to buy or build a new house, or even move their house to their new world. If your challenge Sim dies, it's game over. Optional: You may bring them back to life and continue or use another existing Sim in the household to complete the challenge. Or, keep playing as a ghost! Occult states and Celebrity statuses must be removed when progressing to the next month/world. Optional: May keep acquired lifestates/statuses. *Note: Vampires can't get a suntan, which is a Beach Life aspiration task. If a new world is released with a new pack at any time during 2026, you have the option to swap the new world with another prior released world. Give yourself a break and don't stress over days missed due to internet outages, vacations/holidays, real life work/responsibilities or sickness. Extra story screenshots may be posted, but try to keep it to around 5-10 max. There's no limit for screenshots shared on your blog. May use satisfaction points to buy rewards. Exception: Money tree seeds are disallowed. Lottery tickets are disallowed for purchase. Beginning season, length of days and moon phases are your choice. May turn off or cheat away/change all Eco Lifestyle features applied to worlds. Exception: Must be turned on while living in Evergreen Harbor. May participate in all default Holidays, modify, delete and/or add your own. May include a link to your preferred Blog site with additional story text/screenshots, in addition to your Daily Post Pic/Text Summary. Mod friendly challenge! However, please use discretion when using them. Using a mod to fulfill an aspiration is disallowed. Exception: May be used to correct bugs and/or glitches. Worlds/Packs and Age-Up Timeline: *Note: Feel free to replace any pack you don't own with one of your choosing! Happy New Year and welcome to another Sims 3 community collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and soocoolsim ! Introducing Petite Alsace inspired by picturesque Strasbourg, Colmar and Ribeauville with a dual French and German blend of charming, flower-laden villages and half-timbered homes. We anticipate the completed world will be a lovely addition to your game. Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to the base world. If you love decorating but building isn’t your forte, let us know and we'll try to build a shell for you. Everyone can experience Petite Alsace taking shape by downloading the base world and installing builds as they become available. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this event are also welcome, so don't be shy. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! LOT LISTINGS Map A: Colmar (Medieval, half-timbered houses with flower-filled balconies) Map B: Ribeauville (Pastel, half-timbered 15th - 18th century houses) Map C: Ribeauville Outskirts (Farming area) Map D: Strasbourg (City area, mix of old and new buildings) Map E: Avenue du Rhin (Wine region) Map F: Route de Alsace (Rural area) CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the empty Petite Alsace base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (around the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you join the collaboration or have a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and (no cc) download link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and overall Alsace inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. Inspiration links at the top of this post may be helpful. All / any EA Expansion Packs, Stuff Packs and official Store Items can be used. Free EA Store Items are OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content is allowed. Please Custard Check your exported file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend play-testing your build before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and users can enjoy as intended. Do test placement of your final build. This helps identify any potential issues (e.g. windows / floor tiles out of place). To do this... export your build, save your game, delete the existing build, then replace with the exported version from your library. Take a careful look around and fix as needed. It will be useful for players if the Petite Alsace lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Sims 3 Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / thread. SIMS / HOUSEHOLDS This collaboration focuses on builds since the final world save file will be unpopulated, however we are happy to link to Sims / Households created for Petite Alsace. Petite Alsace builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as Townie use. All / any EA Expansion Packs, Stuff Packs and official Store Items can be used. Free EA Store Items are OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content is allowed. Please Custard Check your exported file before uploading to double check. Once your Sim / Household is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: name / map reference or address (or identify as Townie) / download link / 1 cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. Optional! Link to additional picture site / showcase thread. Looking forward to participation by the Sims 3 community! 😀 STORIES / VIDEOS Players may wish to enjoy this world as it evolves and we welcome links to any Petite Alsace story threads / blogs / media. Handmade Challenge - make things at home Hi all. This challenge makes it possible for you to focus on all the beautiful and fun crafts skills the game has to offer. Your sim will live a self made life and decorate their home with makings of their own hands. Your goal is to max 5 skills and build a awesome creative crafting space. Note that this challenge is DLC heavy, but i will include base game version and its totally doable with only base game. You will max 5 skills, 4 crafting and making skills and 1 joker skill that can be related to crafting such as gardening etc. The beginning Start with one young adult sim. Your sim can be occult. Set the lifespan to long. You are free to choose your sims style, but to make it fun you can also go with a theme. After you have designed clothes for your sim add one clothes preset to day clothing (the 1st section) and design a crafting work outfit for your sim. Your sim will dress in their crafting/maker outfit when they do their crafts to make it more professional. You can decide your starter sims personality traits and aspirations. Also remember to choose few likes and dislikes, including favorite colors for your sims. Home lot Your home lot should have enough room for your crafting space, so i recommend starting with minimum of 30x20 lot. 40x30 and above would be ideal because you will do 5 crafting skills in this challenge and you need space to make your crafting workshop. Any world will do, its up to you do decide. Set the home lot trait to simple living on and other lot traits if you want. After you have purchased a home lot buy these things: One skills station/object of your choosing (For example candle making station, woodworking bench, flower arranger etc). Tent or a sleeping bag one of these (not all) : Coffee machine, smoothie maker or Tea set and counter to place them on. Garbage bin Next open the cheat code panel. Type the "testingcheats true" cheat and then "money 1000". Your starting funds are 1000 simeleons. Now build around your skill station to make it look pro. You can use half walls, columns, fencing, roofs etc to have nice space. Place flooring or terrain patterns under the crafting space to make it stand out. The Challenge rules: Start by dressing your sim into their work/crafting outfit when they work. Work on weekdays from monday to friday from 9 am to max 7 pm. Remember your sim has needs, so take proper care of their needs. In the morning eat proper breakfast, have cup of coffee or tea or have a glass of smoothie and every night before bed take rest of the evening off for your needs. Have weekends off from crafting. If your sims has garden, however you are allowed to take care of gardens, farm animals and pets in the night and weekends if necessary. If your sim is on bad mood they are not able to do crafts so pay attention to their mood and surroundings . Treat your sim and their well being on the weekends. They are allowed to visit their friends, go to spa, bowling, eating out at restaurants etc how ever you want to treat your sim on the well earned weekends. Craft and sell your items from home to make simeleons. You can do that by selling them directly from inventory or buy a market table to set yard sales or open home business. Work on your first crafting skill until your reach level 5 (5 if the skill has 10 levels or 3 if the skills has only 5 levels). Then you are allowed to unlock a new skill and buy new skill working object. Every time your sim reaches level 5 (or level 3 with skills that has level 5 as max) of skill it unlocks the next crafting skill. Choose 4 crafting related skills and 1 joker skill to max. Joker skill is a skill not directly crafting skill but can be helpful such as gardening, but it does not have to be it can also be hobby like riding horses or something else. After your sim has maxed 3 skills they are allowed to take a vacation and you can take them to somewhere, have relaxing camp or just stay few days in mt komerebi etc. something relaxing like that. Then continue the challenge. Challenge ending: Build a creative crafting space and a home/house. You can use clutter/decor items to make it fun but mostly use your self made items for decorating. Your home house must have kitchen, pantry, living area, bathroom and 1-3 bedrooms. Your final home has to have some of these minimum of 20 self crafted furniture, things, functional objects (candles for example) and decor items. The challenge ends when you have build the crafting space/shop and your sim has maxed 5 skills. Note that you can do more with the house, these are just minimum requirements. If you play nature living style (nomad style) instead of furniture and traditional house you can have other crafted items such as collection of your sims crafted things but your sim must have crafting/living space. You can get creative here. Other rules: You are allowed to have clubs and open home business (business and hobbies) and have employees and help. You are also allowed to hire staff like butler, maid etc. You are allowed to play on tiny home benefits/build tiny home. You are allowed to buy and sell things from Plopsy and gift shop. Your sim can get married, have roommate and have or adopt children. Your sim can have animals and pets. Your spouse becomes your biggest supporter and also starts crafting or has their own career but you still must reach the 5 skills max only with your starter sim. If your sims spouse is not supportive and is just making things harder, you can kick them out. Your sim can also have other skills, but they are not required to be maxed. List of all the making related skills so far in the game eligible for this challenge: Handiness/Woodworking, Gardening, Cooking, Baking, Gourmet Cooking, Photography, Painting, Rocket Science, Robotics, Writing, Herbalism, Flower Arranging, Pottery, Candy Making, Potion Making, Apothecary, Fabrication, Candle Making, Juize Fizzing, Nectar Making, Knitting, Cross Stich, Gemology, Archaelogy, Pottery, Papercraft, , Repairing broken things, Mixology, Canning, Ice-Cream making, Pizza making, Waffle Making, Pumpking Carvin Optional relaxed easy mode: Play with Tiny home tier 3 or 2 will have skill doubling benefits. Optional hard mode: Turn on simple living and off the grind, set the money to zero at the beginning. Dont take any game offered inheritances or pop up notification money opportunities. Note that you are not allowed to buy everything, your sim has to make most of the things for their home by themselves. As you proceed and get wins and gain more money you are allowed to buy things but only these things in this list: stove, kitchen counters, sink, fridge, tv, computer, radio, musical instruments, pet stuff, kid/infant/toddler stuff, animal shelters, skill/crafting/hobby objects and other build/buy items that cant be crafted such as fences, walls, windows etc. You are allowed to buy small things like clutter items to decorate and beautify your home. You are not allowed to buy these: furniture like tables, beds for adults and teens and chairs (can be crafted with woodworking table and fabricating skills ), garden pots (can be made with woodworking table and pottery skill), flowers (can be self grown and made into arrangements with flower arranging table and also placed in pottery vases), lights (candle making and fabrication), foods or drinks (you can make all these yourself by gardening, having farm animals, doing nectary, fizzing, canning etc). You also cant buy bath or toilet because they can be made with woodworking table. If you dont want to do woodworking skill then you can have natural living from adventure awaits and live in the nature/cabin/tent type of set up. If you like mods, you can use them too but they wont be listed here. Have fun, at the end of this challenge you will have beneficial sim for you to do crafting skills so save that sim for the future, tip: you can place a skilled sim in your household and then move them out from town edit. For example painter/photographer etc can take nice photos of your sims and then you can move them in and out. Or you can continue the challenge to the next generation and play legacy style by choosing inheritable crafting skill or trait to pass on and mentor. If you do this challenge please tag #handmadechallenge optional: You can use this skill random wheel while choosing the crafting skills, but this doesn´t include related skills such as gardening, making pizzas, writing, tending farm animals etc. If you get cooking for example you can also choose making pizzas or waffles etc or if you get gourmet cooking you can make wedding cakes if you want so under a main skill, you can make and craft things not in this random wheel: https://spinthewheel.app/9P0ZZarx2d41Views0likes1CommentCreek Tales - A Pack Legacy Challenge (updated 04/05)
When Maxis introduced the option of turning packs off and on in game, I was wildly tempted to create a Pack Legacy Challenge for the game. Of course, someone else already did, but as usual, I'm all about creating my own rules based on my own playing style and play badly when others dictate my game, which of course means I'll make the rules up as I go, still there are a few basics. Basic guidelines I intend follow: I will start with an entirely base game family, the Creek-family (introduced below). They (including the kids) are generation 1 of this challenge. With every new generation at least one new pack (EP, GP, SP or Kit) will be unlocked. That generation then has to truly explore that pack, meaning jobs, looks, decorations, aspirations, traits, skills even deaths should be explored to the fullest by the sims born in that generation. The exception is seasons, which will be unlocked as the oldest child of gen 1, Willow, ages up to a teen. Which pack that will be unlocked will depend on the first trait given to the first child in the next generation (so a family orientated child will unlock parenthood or growing together, depending on which have been unlocked before). Some traits only unlock kits. In that case the second trait given to a child of that generation will unlock a pack. Some kits will also be unlocked with a specific pack if it feels like a good combination, like country kitchen with cottage living or industrial loft with city living. And some rules (yes, even I have a few rules): All traits are to be given randomly, with the exceptions being that a sim of a new generation MUST take traits of a newly unlocked pack if there are any, randomly if there are several. When every trait of the newly unlocked pack is assigned to a sim in game, randomness for all available traits are allowed. When the first child of the next generation receive their first trait, true randomness applies as that will dictate the next pack to unlock. A new pack is unlocked when the oldest child of a generation ages up to teen. No CC is allowed, a part from the occasional ad-on pack (separations of items already in game, matching chairs to a sofa or more window options). Even add-ons should be kept to a minimum. This is after all about exploring the packs to their fullest. Mods are allowed, but not those that significantly adds gameplay options (such as career-mods, new aspirations, traits or new gameplay). The purpose here is to explore the options of the packs after all. For me, myself, I intend to start out only with BetterBuildBuy and MCCC and try to keep other mods to a minimum (that lasted less than an hour, there are simply too many things I cannot live with in game, but the aim is the same, keep mods to a minimum and no mods that adds gameplay). As for the rest, well that's up in the air still. I plan on starting with aging on normal, but as that is very new to me, I might change that to long instead as I've never managed to live with normal age span before. Either way, adult lifespan will be about twice the usual length for how else are they going to be able to see their kids grow up and have kids of their own? And with that I think it's time to meet our founding family. As with The Whittaker Saga I will write the post in a blog and post the links here. In the tour 3, i got a bug where i can't complete ir because of the last mision, where i can't make the last task, that is about do everything in a sequence. Even though I follow the task exactly as it says, it never shows as completed. I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but nothing has worked. I haven’t seen anyone else with this bug, but I’d like a solution or to know how to contact the EA support.
