THRILLING ACTION AWAITS IN BRAKING POINT 3
Check out the Braking Point trailer now: The Story So Far The fictional tale puts you right into the action, as the fate and destiny of the characters you control rests in your racing-gloved hands. So, with this being the latest instalment in the Braking Point story, how did we get here? While having roots back to F1® 2019, Braking Point’s debut in F1® 2021 offered players the opportunity to adopt the role of Aiden Jackson, an F1® rookie looking to make a name for himself in the sport. He was met with many challenges along the way, including a ruthless rival, Devon Butler, a driver who would stop at nothing to succeed. In F1® 23’s instalment, which focused on the 2022 and 2023 seasons and the introduction of fictional team Konnersport, familiar faces returned alongside new protagonist Callie Mayer, the first woman to win the F2™ Championship. The once infamous Devon Butler has his perspective of the sport turned upside down, opening up a spot for Callie’s break into F1®. What’s Next? For F1® 25, we’re shaking things up once again, as you’ll play out multiple perspectives of a new story. No longer a minnows team, Konnersport, under new ownership of Davidoff Butler, find themselves fighting against the best on the grid during the 2024 season, with talent and determination on their side. However, in the wake of a dramatic event, will you have what it takes to steer Konnersport to championship glory in 2025? Through state-of-the-art motion captured cutscenes, heart-stopping on-track gameplay, and rebalanced difficulty options that appeal to novice and veteran players, this story is yours to play out. Once you’ve finished the story, you can develop Konnersport’s legacy beyond Braking Point, with the team and drivers available for selection in the revamped My Team mode. Plus, for Driver Career, you have the choice whether or not to add them as the 11th team on the grid, fighting for glory themselves. Learn more about My Team 2.0 in our separate Deep Dive trailer and blog. Only F1® 25 gets you this close to the thrilling adrenaline-fueled sport of Formula 1®. Watch the deep dive now: Visual Authenticity F1® 25 takes a big step forward when it comes to graphical fidelity. Not only do the tracks look better than ever, but they're much more accurate too, thanks to Light Detection and Ranging scanning, also known as LIDAR. Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka and Imola have all been digitally scanned, generating millions of data points. This data, ranging from tiny asphalt surface details to the height of kerbs and distance to barriers, is used for unprecedented accuracy when recreating tracks in-game, ensuring you feel every bump and change in elevation, just like F1® drivers. Off the asphalt, LIDAR has helped make trees and foliage better match the species, placement, size, and shape of their real-life counterparts, with new additions such as cherry blossom trees added to Suzuka. Outside of LIDAR circuits, other improvements have been made to several other circuits in the game. These include track surface shader improvements with more pronounced tyre and lock up marks, as well as physical changes based on other collected real-world data. In one instance, bumps that were present on Silverstone for F1® 24, such as those on the Wellington straight and before Turn 1, have been smoothed out to better match the real-world surface. “oG ew yawA dna tuo sthgiL s’tI” Speaking of circuits, in a first for the official F1® games, you’ll be able to experience some of your favourite races in a unique way. Race around Silverstone, Zandvoort, and the Red Bull Ring in a reverse track layout. Enjoy these once-familiar circuits in Grand Prix, Time Trial, and Multiplayer, or add them to My Team and Driver Career from your second season onwards. This isn’t a case of just turning the cars around on the starting grid. On top of computer-controlled (AI) drivers needing to be retrained, you’ll notice that every detail in a typical Grand Prix has been adapted for racing in reverse. This includes subtle changes you may not even think about such as brake boards, start-lights, off-track cameras for replays, grid boxes, and even marshalls and flag wavers. Pitlanes in particular required special attention. Now that you’ll now be entering from the exit, be sure to take care when merging on-track after making a stop. Plus, with the optimal racing line differing when racing in reverse, you’ll see that track surface wear lines and how drying lines form in the wet will have changed too. We look forward to seeing what you think of these new-look circuits. Introducing the Decal Editor Moving on from tracks for now, we’re delighted to introduce our brand-new Decal Editor for F1® 25. Customisable liveries now start with a base pattern that you’ll be able to personalise with sponsor decals. In previous games, sponsor placements have been locked to a number of fixed positions on the car. In F1® 25 though, decals have much more freedom, allowing them to be moved, rotated, and resized, with design variants unlockable throughout the game. Driver numbers are getting a visual overhaul. New fonts and colours allow additional personality to shine through in your design when creating liveries for My Team and F1® World. You can even choose to have a different style of number on different parts of your car. In addition, sponsor liveries will debut in F1® 25. These are more detailed base patterns for your car, built around the visual identity of the many fictional title sponsors in the game. By using the Decal Editor to add more sponsor decals, you can create a car that wouldn’t look out of place on the real-life grid. In this year’s rebuilt My Team mode, these title sponsors affect income potential, which in turn affects team size and spending. Building a relationship over time with a single sponsor can unlock additional rewards, including owner XP and new decal variants. Learn more about the changes coming to My Team and Driver Career by clicking here. Finally, special edition liveries that are added to the game will now be applied to the car they represent rather than the F1® World car. When you select a 2025 team to drive as in Driver Career, Grand Prix, Time Trial, or F1® World, you’ll be able to choose an applicable special livery. Once you’ve unlocked it, it’s yours to keep. State-of-the-art Technologies On top of the improvements to lighting, shadows, and circuits overall, an emerging PC-exclusive innovation called Path Tracing is being introduced. Expanding on Ray Tracing technology and available as a new “Ultra Max” option in the graphics settings, light now follows every bounced path, including that from indirect lighting and multiple reflections. Shade, light, and colours dynamically shift as they would in real-life, whether you’re racing under the thousands of lights in Bahrain or navigating the castle section on Baku at sunset. If you have a PC capable of experiencing it, Path Tracing is the most realistic simulation of light on track that we’ve ever delivered. For those who aren’t just on PC, tonemapping and light balancing improvements create a more dramatic effect across all types of weather, with a better representation of different cloud coverage changes. Other multi-platform changes have been made, such as new image filters and HDR support in Photo Mode. Collaborate On-Track F1® World has had some exciting updates too. First up is a brand-new collaborative mode: Invitationals. These are special multiplayer events that open up throughout F1® World. Once you have one available, share access to the event with your friends and work together to complete the objective, earning rewards for doing so. Some Invitationals will be more difficult than others, with rewards that scale based on the challenges at hand We’ve also made some changes to promote teamwork and encourage respectful racing. Through an updated Driver of the Day system, accomplishments such as Cleanest Driver and Most Overtakes will be highlighted. What will your reputation be? Listen Up An upgraded audio experience throughout the game will bring you even closer to the action, both in and outside of the cockpit. Just like races in F1® 24, Qualifying now benefits from real-world driver dialogue over the radio, alongside drivers occasionally addressing race engineers. Depending on what happens on-track, you may encounter some entirely new radio audio sequences, including voice lines for pole positions, flags, and those from team principals. We’ve more than doubled our pool of real driver voice lines since F1® 24, so be sure to keep an ear out for some familiar voices. Speaking of which, Naomi Schiff has joined our roster of experts who feature throughout the game. Her talent adds to the largest number of commentary and cutscene voiceovers to-date, helping to make every race weekend feel just like a real-life broadcast. Handling Revisions Through a combination of rigorous internal tests and feedback gathered from the EA SPORTS F1® community, F1® Sim Racing participants, and EA Creator Network members, a number of changes have been made to how cars feel in F1® 25. Here is a summary of some of the changes you may notice when compared to F1® 24. This isn’t a full list of changes, just a handful of highlights: Controls For those of you who play on a controller, you’ll notice that track conditions and the car’s unique dynamics give a more intuitive feel to steering, allowing you to better understand the limits of grip. We’ve also tuned the steering rate for a more consistent feel at all car speeds. For wheel users, force feedback settings have been reviewed across a wide range of wheel models, with the goal of a more authentic feel. More specifically, improvements have been made for more informative aligning torque and changes that better communicate oversteer break-away when racing. We’ve made changes to the ‘Full’ Traction Control setting for better stability and less restrictive driving. Tyres Tyres have had a lot of work done to them including adjustments to tyre loads and the tyre slip model, particularly in Time Trial. Rapid steering inputs, such as techniques that rely on ‘flicking’, will be less effective on race days, as a more aggressive driving style will result in overheating the tyres and faster wear. We’ve recalibrated wear rates for each tyre compound, with track-specific details playing a larger role. This, along with a better balance for alternative strategies at 50% races, should allow for more variation when planning a one-stop or two-stop race. Plus, there have been improvements to how tyres react to different ground material types, such as grass and gravel. Grip level tweaks based on real-world race data have been changed, with street circuits typically offering less grip than traditional circuits. Power Unit Relating to the power unit, the clutch model has been revised with improved slip and blending for smoother shifting overall. This is most noticeable when using Automatic gears. The throttle mapping has been revised for smoother torque response, especially at low speeds. Plus, ERS (Energy Recovery System) has been recalibrated for deploy rates to allow for more strategic harvesting at high speeds. Aero When it comes to Aero, our slipstream model has been adjusted for more improved racing. You're more likely to experience the effects of ‘dirty air’ this year compared to F1® 24. The accuracy of ride height and yaw effects has been adapted based on real-world CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and wind tunnel data. AI Enhancements We know that when playing offline, racing against the AI drivers should feel as thrilling and exciting as it does when watching the real-life sport. Following trials in pre-release testing with highly-skilled players resulted in some incredible racing action, the team tuned the AI to better reflect their overtaking capabilities with one another and when racing players. Other adjustments have been made, such as AI now being more likely to pull off defensive manoeuvres when protecting a position. Furthermore, whilst you may notice ‘trains’ form, just like in the real sport, the AI will make better tactical decisions as to when to deploy DRS (Drag Reduction System) and ERS. With countless racing scenarios and over 100 difficulty levels to accommodate for, there's a lot of work that goes into AI. We hope the changes made for this year unlock more realistic and dynamic racing moments between you and these computer-driven competitors. Quick-Fire Changes Below are a number of other changes you can expect to see for F1® 25. If you’re familiar with our previous games, we’re sure you’re going to like what we have on offer: After a multitude of exciting and unpredictable roster changes in the off-season, the 2025 calendar will no doubt continue to surprise us right through until the finale in Abu Dhabi. With every driver and team represented, including cover star Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari and six rookies, you’ll have plenty of choices when deciding who you want to take to the top of the standings. When going off-track, pick up from grass and other off-track surfaces is more visually pronounced on the tyres. As in previous games, this pick-up can hinder your ability to grip to the surface of the track until it’s worn off, so be careful. Podium sequences have been reworked. We’ve used motion-driven cameras with more natural camera treatments for those top three celebrations to taste that little bit sweeter. Thanks to NVIDIA Audio2Face technology, we’ve been able to deliver more extensive facial animations. From Career to Braking Point, the reintroduced press interviews now capture drivers delivering their responses in a more authentic fashion, with this technology extending to facility heads in My Team. Also in My Team, the engine sound your car makes matches that of the supplier you choose. Some of the rule changes that have been introduced in the 2025 season have been added, such as the mandatory two-stop rule for Monaco and the removal of a point given for the fastest lap. For those on PS5 Pro, when playing in split-screen, you’ll notice the game runs at a smoother 60fps. Watch the Deep Dive now: Introducing My Team 2.0 As mentioned as part of our Reveal, My Team is having its biggest overhaul since it was introduced in F1® 2020. If you’ve played My Team in one of our previous F1® games, you’ll be familiar with taking on the role of driver/owner, a single character that not only runs the day-to-day activities behind the scenes, but also jumps into the cockpit for the on-track action. For F1® 25 however, we’re shaking things up, as My Team 2.0 sees you take on a more authentic, management-focused role in that of a team owner. In addition to handling day-to-day running of the critical facilities that make an F1® team tick such as Engineering, Personnel and Corporate, you’ll be responsible for recruiting and managing a pair of drivers to represent your team. Then, during race weekends, you’ll be given the choice as to which driver you’d like to take to the track. By managing the competing concerns of two drivers instead of just a single teammate, you’ll discover what kind of owner you’d like to be. We believe this refreshed approach allows you to craft a My Team story that's unique to you, unlocking new avenues of decision-making for you to explore. Manage Your Facilities As a team owner in My Team, you’ll be required to manage many of your team’s facilities, each with a unique responsibility. The Engineering facility separates research and development for the first time. When developing a part you’ve spent time researching, you’ll need to decide where to focus the team’s efforts. You could choose to develop parts for both drivers simultaneously, however, whilst this execution will cost less, it will take longer. In contrast, you may wish to develop a single part for your in-form driver, so that it’s ready for an upcoming Grand Prix, a decision that could affect a driver’s perception of the team. Keep that in mind if you want to stay on their good side ahead of any contract negotiations. Reflecting the changes made to the real-world sport, your team’s placement in the Constructors' Championship will impact your resource points income. Whether you're currently at the top of the standings, the bottom, or somewhere in between, your resource point income will be adjusted accordingly, with the teams at the top of the standings having fewer resource points to propel their R&D efforts, and those at the bottom having more. The Personnel facility introduces a new driver contract system with unique outcomes, giving you the opportunity to negotiate with multiple drivers on the approach to the contract window. This updated system is influenced by how you interact with different drivers. By taking some time to meet multiple drivers face-to-face to discuss terms, you can figure out the best lineup for your future team. But be careful, having news of these conversations leaked to other drivers might spell disaster for your hiring prospects. There are plenty of talented staff that make up your team, not just the drivers that tally up championship points on race weekends. This is your Workforce, the men and women who put in the hours behind the scenes. Naturally, the more you have on your payroll, the greater the cost, with upsides being faster development of parts and reduced build facility improvement times, just to name a couple. Balancing your Workforce is crucial to success, so be sure to keep an eye on your finances and not to exceed the Cost Cap. This finance management is where the Corporate facility comes into play. By spreading your outgoings effectively throughout the season, you’ll keep your head above water so review your spending often. The Corporate facility is also where you’ll be able to customise your team’s livery using the new Decal Editor. More on that update, in our next deep dive. The choices you make throughout the year will be what shapes your ownership style, laying the foundation for your My Team legacy. Your Base of Operations The new Team HQ will allow you to explore an entirely new facility improvement system, with a wealth of strategies for you to pursue. Just as with everything else in My Team, you have the choice of how you want to expand your facilities and grow your team. Would you prefer to fill gaps in your team’s expertise, or double down on your strengths and dominate the competition? Triggering upgrades and resolving contract negotiations with drivers earns you XP as a team owner, which can then be used to unlock further training points to tailor your personal management style. Strategic Responsibility Now that My Team in F1® 25 has retired the role of driver/owner in favour of team owner, this opens up some new strategic responsibilities that would have previously been out of your hands, bringing you closer to the real-life sport than ever before. There’s a lot to consider when it comes to making a decision as to which driver’s shoes you’d like to step into for an upcoming race weekend. Imagine you’re closing in on the end of a season, with a shot at glory in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles. Would you prefer to take control of your star driver who’s in a more favourable position in the Drivers’ championship, maintaining the pursuit of that trophy? Or, would you rather make a team call and seek a Constructors’ title, by pushing for a better result with your recently out-of-form second driver, or putting them in a position to disrupt your closest rivals? With near limitless possibilities in how each race weekend and season can pan out, it’s up to you to make the right call. Develop a Fanbase Introduced in last year’s Driver Career, Accolades make a return in F1® 25 and are now included as part of My Team. By earning Accolades, you’ll increase your Fan Rating, which can be boosted further if you come out on top in any rivalries that develop between your team and your closest competitors. As your Fan Rating progresses, you’ll gain ongoing perks to make your team more effective, unlock the possibility of signing new lucrative title sponsors, and may find it easier to sign more prestigious drivers. Familiar Faces, New Possibilities Both My Team and Driver Career benefit from significant changes to the Driver Icons system in F1® 25. For the first time, both of these modes will allow computer-controlled (AI) teams the option to recruit Driver Icons. Picture this; you could end up going wheel-to-wheel with Michael Schumacher in a modern Ferrari or Ayrton Senna in this year's McLaren, all while racing as a driver Icon that you’ve recruited or selected yourself. This change - along with My Team-specific features such as the new contracts system mentioned earlier, and a new option that allows you to increase the frequency of driver transfers - will no doubt lead to some unexpected team rosters from one season to the next. In another first for Driver Career, F1® 25 gives you the option to add an eleventh team to the grid, either Braking Point’s Konnersport, or - exclusive to the Iconic Edition - the APXGP team from the upcoming Apple Original Films’ F1***, with each team accompanied by its pair of Driver Icons. Not only that, but for My Team, you can choose to take ownership of one of these two teams in your pursuit of the Constructor's title, the same way you would your own custom team. Pre-Order Now Building on our existing model, Career Mode in F1® 25 is the most authentic iteration to date and the definitive Formula 1 experience for players new and old to immerse themselves in. Developed by Codemasters, EA SPORTS F1® 25 launches May 30, 2025 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The v1.17 patch for F1® 24 begins rolling out at 11am UTC on February 3rd, 2025. Please ensure your device is connected to the internet in order to receive the update. Here’s a list of everything that’s been updated in this latest patch: v1.17 Patch Notes Awarded Level 50 Podium Pass Customisation items to players for whom they were not previously unlocked correctly in Seasons 1, 2, & 3 In a handful of rare instances, players that reached Level 50 in the Podium Pass didn’t receive the correct rewards for Seasons 1, 2, and 3. For those affected, these items will be distributed via in-game mail starting February 4th following the online services update. Added the ability to export session results for certain multiplayer modes (PC only) This additional feature adds an Export Session Results option on the race results screen in Multiplayer Grand Prix and Leagues. When selected, this exports a .csv file into your F1 24 Folder in My Games. This file contains all the information from the Results screen along with all Incidents and Pit Stops which took place during the race for players and AI. Additionally, a new option has been added to the Legal and Privacy menu in Settings in the Main Menu. Here you can turn “Show Name in Export Session Results” On or Off to decide whether to allow your Username to be seen by other players when they export session results. Fixed an issue which was preventing the player's number from appearing on the Hethel Classic Livery 2024 and Grove Classic Livery 2024. Fixed an issue which was preventing sponsor decals from appearing on a driver's suit after they'd been applied to their vehicle. Fixed an issue where sponsors would not appear on the winner's racesuit on the Multiplayer Race Results screen Fixed an issue in the Graphics Setting Menu which could cause a crash for some users when rapidly changing TAA modes (PC only) Fixed a rare crash for some VR users when using a Flashback or exiting Instant Replay mode (PC only) Various UI improvements Thank you to all the drivers around the world who have made their voices heard, contributing to making F1® 24 the best experience for all players. The Williams car now features Globant and Mercado Libre logos, the Haas car has been updated to add Toyota Gazoo Racing and Orion 180 branding, and the Darktrace logos on the McLaren have been recoloured. Fixed an issue which in some instances caused graphical issues for people with certain Anti-Aliasing options and Dynamic Resolution Enabled (PC Only) Following the v1.16 update, options relating to Anti-Aliasing, DLSS, FSR, and/or Dynamic Resolution may have been reset. Be sure to check the in-game Graphics settings to ensure that these options are to your liking. Added support for XeSS 2, which will be enabled on supporting hardware with an upcoming driver update from Intel (PC Only) When using compatible hardware, F1® 24 will support higher frame rates and smoother gameplay using XeSS Frame Generation (XeSS-FG) through AI-based frame interpolation. When paired with Xe Low Latency (XeLL), this reduces input delay for a more immersive experience. The visual quality of Ray Traced reflections on the interior of the cockpit has been improved (PS5® Pro Only) Fixed an issue which applied too much engine heat haze when spectating an AI during a replay Added a couple of additional updates to the Las Vegas environment Miscellaneous Added the Player Hub option to the Main Menu The Player Hub is where players can check Podium Pass, Store, Friends List, Mail, and Super License. This has been added to the Main Menu screen and will show a yellow notification marker when there’s something new to view. The Player Hub can still be accessed when in other areas of the game, by pressing the corresponding button shown in the top right corner of the screen. AI Difficulty between 101-110 has been increased to give experienced players a harder challenge Following feedback from the community, an adjustment has been made to add an extra challenge for those playing at the highest difficulty levels. This change results in around a one tenth decrease in lap time for those competing against 110 AI compared to pre-patch performance. This difference varies slightly depending on the circuit you are racing on. Various UI Improvements Thank you to all the drivers around the world who have made their voices heard, contributing to making F1® 24 the best experience for all players.
