Hacked Account Banned - Need CM Escalation (Foreign IP Proof Available)
Hello Community Managers and Forum Staff, My Apex Legends account was recently permanently banned due to cheating while compromised by an unauthorized third party accessing from foreign IPs (Hong Kong / China). I reside in South Korea and have never used any third-party software. I have clear Steam login history logs showing foreign IP access during the ban timeframe. I have already appealed through EA Help and submitted cases, but I keep receiving automated rejection emails without a proper manual log review. I am requesting a Community Manager to escalate my case to the ToS team for a manual review of my IP logs. I am more than happy to provide my case numbers and the Steam login history screenshots if needed. Thank you for your support.11Views0likes1CommentOdd Ban...
Got banned on Oct 2023, despite not playing since Oct 2021, but the ban email shows Jan 2022??? Hi, I am extremely confused right now. I installed the game after having not played for a long time only to find out I was banned for "gameplay enhancement". I have already sent an appeal. I am posting this just to see if anyone has had anything similar happen to them. I am assume someone at EA would be able to verify that I haven't played since 2021. My stats are very limited as I didn't play for very long. I am not expecting anyone here to overturn the ban or anything I just looking for anyone with a similar experience and what ended up happening with their case. If needed i can add any attachments to backup what i am actually saying.Solved17Views0likes4CommentsGame wont start
Hello, I need help with Apex Legends on PC. After the latest update, the game starts, shows the intro, and then crashes immediately with no error message. I play through Steam. I already verified files, reinstalled the game, restarted my PC, and tried repairing Easy Anti-Cheat, but nothing helped. Easy Anti-Cheat shows an error with incorrect game ID. The game worked before the update. My GPU is RTX 3070. Please help me fix this issue.Solved1.7KViews6likes122CommentsEasy Anti-Cheat stuck on "Initializing" - Fixed by stopping CmUpx.sys
After a recent Apex Legends update, I was unable to launch the game through Steam. Easy Anti-Cheat Bootstrapper (EOS) would stay on "Initializing" and eventually become unresponsive. While it was stuck, I also noticed unusually high memory usage. I tried several common troubleshooting steps, including: Reinstalling Apex Legends Verifying the game files in Steam Repairing/reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat Restarting the PC None of these fixed the issue. I then checked the Easy Anti-Cheat log located here: %APPDATA%\EasyAntiCheat\anticheatlauncher.log At the end of the log, I found: Launcher finished with: 206 The log also said: Please unload CmUpx.sys before starting the game I opened Command Prompt as Administrator and ran: sc query CmUpx CmUpx was shown as RUNNING. I then ran: sc stop CmUpx After that, CmUpx showed as STOPPED, and Apex successfully passed the Easy Anti-Cheat initialization and launched normally. I also used the following command to prevent CmUpx from starting automatically after reboot: sc config CmUpx start= disabled After doing this, I was able to launch Apex, update the game, and enter the lobby normally. Important: Please check your anticheatlauncher.log before trying this. I only recommend stopping or disabling CmUpx if your EAC log specifically mentions CmUpx.sys. CmUpx appears to be related to a Realtek driver, so disabling it may affect some hardware or software depending on your system. I did NOT delete CmUpx.sys and I did NOT use "sc delete". I am also not sure whether the unusually high memory usage was directly caused by CmUpx.sys, but the memory issue occurred while EAC was stuck and the game launched normally after stopping CmUpx. Hopefully this helps anyone experiencing the same EAC initialization issue.Solved67Views1like2CommentsApex Legends stuck at Easy Anti-Cheat (EOS) init since Aug 21 update [SOLVED]
Symptom Since August 21, 2026, Apex Legends (Steam version) would no longer launch. The game would freeze at the "Initializing" screen with "Easy Anti-Cheat Bootstrapper (EOS) is not responding," eventually failing with an "internal error" if left long enough. The freeze only occurred when a network connection was active — disabling network access entirely allowed the bootstrapper to pass this screen — which pointed to a conflict related to networking. Cause Checking the Easy Anti-Cheat log file (%APPDATA%\EasyAntiCheat\anticheatlauncher.log) revealed the following entry: Launcher finished with: 206, 'Please unload CmUpx.sys before starting the game' CmUpx.sys (a Realtek-related driver service) was conflicting with EAC's process of downloading and unpacking the anti-cheat module over the network, causing the launcher to exit with an error. Fix From an elevated (Administrator) Command Prompt, I stopped the conflicting driver service: sc query CmUpx ← check status (it showed "RUNNING") sc stop CmUpx ← stop the service After stopping it, Apex Legends launched successfully. Note on making this permanent sc stop only stops the service temporarily — it will restart automatically on the next reboot, and the issue may return. To disable it permanently, run: sc config CmUpx start= disabled Since this driver is Realtek-related, disabling it may affect associated hardware/software functionality, so check your peripherals afterward. If anything breaks, you can revert with: sc config CmUpx start= demand Credit This fix was made possible thanks to a post by IKAKUKUN on these forums, who shared how to check the log and the exact commands to resolve it. Posting this here in case it helps others hitting the same "EOS init" freeze. Thank you, IKAKUKUN!31Views2likes0CommentsHidden EA account block: fake 9‑series case numbers
You guys realize EA support can slap hidden restrictions on your accounts? It’s wild. Trying to send in an email ticket just gives me [CASE NOT CREATED]. Live‑chat gives me a bogus case number starting with 9 and no advisor ever shows up. Heads‑up for everyone: those 9‑beginning case IDs are fake. Switching over to my other EA account, support works 100% normally. I even swapped out my main account’s email, and the block is still there. Messaged support from my alt, and all I got was useless boilerplate. Either “wait a while” or generic copy‑paste answers straight out of their reply excel sheet. This happened even after I spelled out that I literally can’t open a real ticket no matter what I try. What a messed‑up situation. My account got banned from being hacked, and I can’t even submit a ban appeal. Players are supposed to be allowed to appeal, but my account is secretly blocked. I’ve got zero clue why this is happening to me. I already know the official response will just be “forums don’t handle account issues, reach out to ToS support”. I get mods can’t do much here. I’m just putting this out there for other players. If anyone else has run into these hidden blocks, like those fake 9‑series case numbers, drop your story. I’m think this runs afoul of some regulations, though I’m no legal expert. Maybe we can brainstorm some workarounds as a group.25Views0likes3CommentsApex Legends causes kernel level system freeze
