EA App/EA Desktop bad install - endless 'preparing game' loop
I cannot get a good re-installation of BF4. I've tried to sanitize my machine as best I can before re-installing but I still have the same problem of the 'preparing game' window showing up in an endless loop but not actually starting BF4. If I launch through Battlelog on a web browser it fails to load and the EA says 'game already running' or some %#^ thing... A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away the game crashed with an error that said a port is closed. A suggested solution said to run as admin but that is when the game failed to even load. I uninstalled the EA App and BF4 and ran Crap Cleaner. I also deleted some file folders in program files and Users/Appdata. Also tried to repair BF4 and the App through the App, including clearing the cache in the 'HELP' drop-down menu. I also made sure EA Background Service was ended through the task manager before uninstalling. I tried this whole process a couple times but am still getting the same result with both the EA App and via Battlelog in Google Chrome: a preparing window and progress bar opens up, then goes away, then opens up, goes away, opens up, etc. I have to restart at this time to stop the loop. My last harddrive cleanup I even recklessly went into the registry and deleted anything referencing BF4 or the EA App. Any thoughts? A portion of dxdiag is below and I think I have some of the EA App logs, if that would help. This problem started two days ago. Everything was working fine before that. Have other Battlescreen users encountered this issue? Or has EA disabled Battlescreen? I've tried all browsers and reinstalled all software, including a clean install of Windows—but the problem persists. So it shouldn't be my issue. Additionally, I can't join servers that require a password through Battlelog because the password input box doesn't appear. It jumps directly to the server joining process and then displays "Unable to join server: wrong password." EA/DICE please fix the above issues.171Views1like11CommentsBattlefield 4 emblems has stopped working for everyone on PC
A couple of weeks ago i noticed the emblem stopped showing ingame. It worked for some people but now it wont work for anyone. We have discussed this together on the servers and on discord and reddit, so its not only for me. Its for everyone. I have tried several differnt combinations of deleting and creating emblems from both the battlelogg and the companion app website. Strangely the emblem still show up in BF1. The clan/platoon tag still works. but only if you create it in battlelog. Via the companion app it wont show up ingame. I would love to have my pikatchu emblem back and seeing others creative emblems makes the game more fun!253Views4likes13CommentsBattlefield 4 in 2026?
Hey! I want to buy and play Battlefield 4 on Steam but I don't know if I should. I'm from Asia, and I heard there were server issues. I checked and saw I had 160-180ms (sometimes even 155ms on a good day!) So, should I? Any fixes, tips, or something you guys got for me? It would be greatly appreciated! (If all goes wrong I'm buying Battlefield 1 instead)Solved754Views2likes18CommentsBATTLEFIELD 4 SCREEN FREEZES MID-GAME
This is really annoying. I bought BF4 during the spring sale, but ever since I started playing, the screen freezes mid-game, or it freezes right after one game ends and the next one starts, or sometimes after about 12 minutes when joining a server. The worst part is that it doesn't save any of my progress, leveling up, or unlocked accessories. I've looked for solutions everywhere. - I've already updated my Nvidia GPU drivers, reinstalled and added the game to PunkBuster, deleted the Battlefield 4 folder in Documents, repaired the game and all its add-ons, and completely reinstalled the game and add-ons. I've enabled administrator privileges, disabled all available overlays from the EA app and MSI Afterburner (although I tried without using MSI Afterburner and it still freezes), tried launching the game in a browser and in the game itself, and it freezes sooner or later in both. I've also enabled Windows Firewall and used Windows repair commands like sfc. I've tried running `/scannown` or `DISM` and nothing works. It's gotten so bad that I'm thinking of quitting this game altogether. I've never had a similar error in any other game. I have Battlefield 3 and it works perfectly. Anyway, if anyone has a solution, I'd be eternally grateful. 🙏 Edit: In case you're wondering, it's not overheating and the FPS is very low, and the problem persists.Internet disconnects automatically whenever BF1, 4, even 5 are booted up.
Anyone solved this or is EA solving the problem? I find BF1, 4, and 5 unplayable. They all disconnect my wifi and I have to keep restarting my PC. I have no issues with BF6. I played these previous games on PC for years and had no issues. What is going on?93Views0likes3CommentsBattlefield 4 premium edition issue
I wanted to say that I just bought BF4 premium Edition on steam and when I started it showed all DLCs and such are installed and even double checked to see if everything was there everything shows up fine but the issue I'm having is that I'm not receiving the premium benefits like camos, knives, and battle packs. I'm not sure why this happening I know my account are connected I even checked the EA app and it's saying I own it and such but it's not showing in my DLCs but saying it's in my library basically I have premium but not the benefits sorry for the slight rant, could anyone help me with this issue?BF4 campaign achievements not working. Impossible to unlock weapons.
Contacted customer "support" and asked for the most reasonable thing on the world: To have those guns unlocked manually, not just for me, but for every player, since these are locked behind achievements that cannot be achieved. They just told me to raise the issue here, so I'm doing so. Frankly speaking, if this isn't resolved within a couple of months, I have every intention to report EA to the European Consumer Centres Network for lack of conformity with the EU Digital Content Directive (2019/770) and the European Commission consumer protection rules, according to which companies must: -Deliver a product that matches its description -Ensure it is fit for purpose -Maintain functionality that was advertised Given that the company continues to sell the product without any warning that core progression content (guns in a shooter game) is not working in a paid product, this is the very definition of misleading marketing. If there's any way to work through this, please help here for me and others. Otherwise, let's make sure we massively report this issue to our respective authorities. At the end of the day, we are customers and we have rights. We aren't sheep.
