[LLQE] Moodlets/Message for Regal Residence Lot Trait despite not having trait
I tried switching to a different household to see if that would fix the issue but when I switched back, the previous household was still acting as if the Regal Residence Lot Trait was still equipped. Edit By crinrict: Added Tag to Title1.4KViews36likes38CommentsExpansion to bring back bands - Music and bands expansion written by a musician.
(Reuploaded for clarity, spelling mistakes, and elaboration) Music like many an art form has and will always be in some part an expression of the times, so I ask you to follow me in my semi thought out idea for how to bring a world of music into the sims 4. Because I don't have a name for it we're just gonna call this the music expansion featuring the "four" neighbors of the music world. First and foremost as a musician I've been dying to see more instruments in the game, and I already knew prior to listing them off, I'm asking for a lot, but here we go all the same. The town in my head is separated into four areas. Three residential and one commercial. For now we'll call these oldies, hippies, modern, and downtown. Every neighborhood here should have a story on its own communicated by the types of music found, and the style of homes build there. Every neighborhood is at war with itself. lets start with oldies: this neighborhood would give off a 1920s/50s style feel with jazz, blues, and classical music at its foundation. The older generations don't get these new sounds, they think whatever the kids of today are listening to is nonsense. There'd be a new interaction available between people the same age, taking about how their generations music is better, and when talking to a younger sim you can proform a mean interaction, putting down the youth of the neighborhood and their music tastes. Oldies is classical music vs jazz and blues. Next we'll go to hippies, a neighborhood filled with bell bottom jeans, tiedie, and bandanas. The place breathes that van life hippie culture energy, filled with free spirits and good vibes, the youth here however want to make a statement on the world, they're inspired more by grunge rock and the hard rock of the 90s. They're punks with attitude and proud of it. This place musically is a battle of old school 60s/70s style rock and the kind of hard rock parents used to fear their kids might be corrupted by. The modern neighborhood is in its own kind of battle, while you might think rap, hip hop, and djs all should get along, they're constantly at odds arguing if using technology to make music counts as real art, another interaction which would be added. (could also mess with programmers making a.i. music, could make for a better narrative for the neighborhood or just another layer. Also keeps things relevant to the music scene of today). If you're still with me lets talk game play beyond young and olds sims arguing about what music is good or bad or what makes a real musician. Technically there'd be two careers. To start there's a music business career, which would branch between what role you play behind the scenes in the music industry. I also think for this specifically the branch would need to happen early in the career, likely between level three and five of the career. The first branch would be working for and then later running a label. You'd first scout and sign sims, and it'd be a semi active job, with signing sims happening on your own time outside of office hours. You'd go on to become a manager, where instead of recruiting outside of office hours, your goals are now to book gigs, keep your artists happy, and build your own personal roster of talent. I'd limit it to three musical acts max per manager. This would include diva solo artists, bands, and so on. Finally at the top of the career you'd be the head of the label company now running the show as assistants, mangers, and scouts take care of all the busy work. The other branch would be the producer role, mixing and recording songs. You'd start as an assistant and work your way up in the career to running your own studio. Optionally I also think for those not wanting to send their sims to work you should be able to turn either a residential or business lot you own into a studio. Allowing you to either build a home studio in your basement or buy a building outright for this. Sims would come in and interact with musical objects as you record different sims all with different levels of music abilities. For interactive purposes I think it'd be funny to one day work with real talent only for the next to have a sim show up and not be able to sing at all. Leaving your sim with a negative moodlet from having to hear something so awful. There could also be interactions around this, possibly even trying to convince sims with no musical abilities to simply give up and find a new passion or hobby. For your own sim in a studio this could either leave them with embarrassed moodlet, or depending on their traits a confident determination to get better, we'll call it the "I'll show you moodlet". (Also feel like some kind of composer job would work but don't know where to put it. Along with the obvious mixing/recording/producing skill, and the new instrument skills, this would also add music theory to the game. Not sure how this idea as a whole works, still pretty foggy, but with this being a music pack adding theory makes sense and would tie into the music business career even with out a composer job.) The other option as a career is to actually be a working musician. I see this more like a freelance thing, where you sign up and then everything is up to you. From booking gigs to deciding what kind of musician you want to be. You're your own boss and instead of promotions you need to get your name as an artists out there. There'd be a popularity/reputation system for you as an artist. This would work like reputation and fame but instead of it being centered around you, it's focused on your artist persona. (We'll call this new mechanic Notoriety) Are you a diva who puts on a great show but can't get along with anyone? Or do you have a great reputation but a fan base that needs building? That would be the artist system implemented. When you become a working musician, as I said, you'd need to decide what kind you'll be. What do you make and what's your role in this expansion pack? Are you the lead singer? Then you'll need to form a band with other sims around town before you can hop up on stage. If you're a rapper who can't write then you'll have to recruit a poet to write for you so you can preform, (another new skill, allowing you to both write lyrics and preform poetry). Or maybe you want to just play some jazz with a few friends now that you're retired, still got to get a venue to let you play if you want it to be more than a hobby. You could also decide to go it alone and skip the hassle, working as a solo artist, or even team up with a single friend and become a duo. Lastly this job would be available for teenagers as well as young adult plus. And with highschool years you could have your sim drop out of school to pursue their music dreams. (I also think drop out to pursue music should just be added with this pack) Before I talk about the commercial district/downtown and how it'd work with everything else, I think the three residential neighborhoods would all have one venue for proformances tied into the neighborhoods lore. Oldies: Has a recently opened jazz club that has the neighborhood divided. In my mind its run by a young man with a love for jazz and blues. I see it as a basement club where people get together to express themselves. Hippies: Has an outdoor stage with food, drinks, vendors, and gross porta potties, think something like woodstock but smaller scale. This venue is one the rebellious young rockers want to make their own. To make it more interesting the owner of this venue unlike all the other hippies wants to actually give the next generation a chance, but public opinion likely isn't on their side at least amongst adults. Modern: Has an old abandoned warehouse once used for local youth to express themselves through rap battles and slam poetry, but is now seeing a new crowd come in for techno, djs, and a.i. artists to preform. (This would be the venue with the most conflict.) Also as a side note adding a.i. sims as a new thing would be a neat addition to this pack. Sims with high programing could download their consciousness and become a digital sim. (They'd look similar to ghosts and maybe their plumbob would protect a light down implying even their plumbob is artificial. With high programming you could also create an a.i. sim.) (I mostly like this idea because it blurs the lines on what makes a sim a sim and adds a deeper layer to the "can art be art if made by a.i." the modern neighborhood could explore) The way I see it each neighborhood's venues would work on a scale of lore based conflict. The jazz club is a hideaway avoided by those who dislike it, the outdoor venue is middle of the road, and the warehouse is currently a warzone between different acts. Now finally downtown: Downtown would be made up of various buildings and parks where your sims can proform. It'd range from a cozy restaurant or cafe perfect for piano or an acoustic duo, to night clubs looking for the next big thing or a good dj to get people on the dance floor, to bars both gross and clean looking for bands for a night. Your sim could also purchase the new lot type called Venue. Any household can buy and run a venue where you can host music artists and put on events. Being able to create and run your own jazz club, underground secret get away for young artists, or outdoor events just feels natural for this pack idea and would add more replay value. Like restaurants your venue would have a rating out of five stars. You decide who plays and what style and genre your venue fits into. Regardless of if you own one or not, venues are one of the core components of the game play loop. Musicians book gigs there. If you're scouting talent outside of office hours this is probably your first stop. Once you get promoted to Manger, you can use a computer or your phone to potentially select sims already signed to the label, but venues are a place we're your sim can personally recruit acts they like. As a Manger if you don't want to get fired or have your talent leave you as you shoot towards that next promotion, you gotta talk to the venues and get your artists booked. As I said, if your a musician of any kind your sim's goal is to book gigs at these places. Your level of notoriety and reputation as an artist matters and determines if a venue will let you preform. Have you won people over or do you play night after night to empty crowds or the few friends and family members taking pity on you. I think there should be a system where with low notoriety a notification will appear giving you a list of sims you personally invited who decided they would rather do anything else with their time. The notification would be mean but written in a way that should also make a player laugh. Another thing is open mics. Every venue has a barrier to entry, maybe with good Charisma you can talk your way into any venue, but for the most part you need notoriety to play at increasing popular venues. Open mics and playing for tips in public lots would allow your sim to boost their notoriety if they cant get a gig. Music world/expansion is a place out of time and would be one of the biggest expansions for the sims 4 and looking at all my ideas a potential coding nightmare, but would also add a lot to the game. By giving players all these options for how to approach music you can appeal to a wider audience and allow for more replay value. Finally skills and instruments: New skills (non instruments): Rap, Poetry, Music theory, Mixing/recording/producing. Instruments: Electric Guitar: Although I'm not always one for brand deals personally, to keep this simple we'll say one's a les paul and the other is a strat, while we could talk about brands all day in games, I feel like these two styles of guitar are pretty iconic so even if it's not a brand deal let's run with these designs. All that would change is the sound of the instrument. By selecting it you could pick between we'll say 4 tones, clean, twang, distorted, or heavy. (Distorted would have more of a 70s-90s hard rock tone, not heavy metal.) No new skill added here, just a change in look, interaction, and sound. Mics: while microphones already exist in game we're gonna add two new types. First is a cheap generic mic stand nothing flashy, the second mic stand I'm gonna take personal influence here and say it's got a custom built design. (It can be whatever but I'm gonna use my own custom mic stand as reference for a mental visual.) This mic stand is build out of a symbol stand from a drum kit, uses a steering wheel as its base, and has tape around the top hiding the welding marks for the mic holder thingy. The other type of mic added is just a microphone you can put in your sims inventory so they can proform any time anywhere. Drums: I feel like for this we can add both a standard kit, an electric kit, and a cajon for those cozy sitting around a campfire settings. Could even add one of those little drum pad things for kids to build creativity and also would just be really adorable. Bass: More than anything I want to see an electric bass guitar (which would fuction just like the electric guitar) and an upright bass to even things out between oldies and hippies instrument wise. (As a bassist myself I hate to say it, but you could even skip adding a bass skill to the game and just group it in with guitar. Electric guitars would already look and sound different so doing the same for both types of bass just makes sense and creates less work from a dev standpoint. Plus I have yet to see a guitar player pick up a bass guitar and not be able to rock it, so making it all one skill just makes sense sadly, even if I want it to be its own thing. That said even if it isnt its own skill it would still have unique interactions because its not a guitar... obviously.) Amps: While I like the idea of practical amps for all instruments, knowing how sims tend to behave this would be a nightmare so let's just say these are decorative only. Maybe if your sim is playing an instrument in front of an Amp, you can click on it and add a cable which makes the amps produce sound. This is a visual only thing because something tells me actually trying to implement this would ruin the experience with sims behaving how they do. In otherwords amps aren't needed but look cool and if you decide to "plug in" while playing it just adds an extra layer of immersion. Saxophone: With the jazz neighborhood I don't think this really requires much explanation, also Saxophones are just cool. The next two are similar to how the bass functions but I think would be nice to have in game. Synth - (honestly with piano already a thing and keyboard, this is something I'd just like to see and not something I think needs to be added for this pack idea. Also if they did add it I think I'd just be a reskinned keyboard for the most part, and use the piano skill. It would sound different though.) Banjo - (this would work like the synth and the bass, it'd use the guitar skill and just look and sound different.) Extra instruments I'd just like to see cause they're cool, but don't really have thoughts on, and to be honest arent needed and would add way too many new skills to the game. (Although you could cheat and replace the Saxophone skill with brass instrument skill or something and add a woodwind skill or something) Trumpet, Clarinet, Flute, Ocarina, etcetera. (This is pretty much anything else that could be slotted into an existing or new skill but adds variety... the pain would be adding all the sounds for the instruments, but on the plus side you could include instruments from all over the world without needing to add a million new skills.) The new music world should represent all types of music throughout history as best as the sims can. It's a world out of time and for something that can be so decade specific I think this stylistic approach to the world offers the best way to add all types of music and the experiences that can be had with it into the sims 4. If you made it this far, sorry for the re-upload, I just read back the original post and saw too many things I wanted to fix. Obviously this expansion as I've laid it out here feels massive and is a pipe dream, but if the sims 4 actually got something like this personally I'd be happy. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a nice day :) [CM edit - title update]42Views0likes3CommentsToggle to lock and unlock body type or shape
I should've thought of this long time ago so I have a Sim and her body type and shape is perfect to me she's not to muscular but she's curvy I don't want to add more muscles onto her because she looks like a body builder type which I have Sims in my game like that I don't want her to be like or I have thick Sims that I don't want them to lose weight because they are the size that I like them to be so I would like a toggle to lock and unlock body types to not add on muscles or to gain or lose weight.'Keep Furniture' does not work when moving
This has happened to me three times now. I have seen a post on here from a year ago that said the 'keep furniture' option does not work for them when they are moving their married sims in together. For me, this not only happens with married sims, but also just sims in general. The last two times I moved my sims from one house to another lot, it completely ignores the fact that I said to keep the furniture! There was zero furniture in the household inventory in build mode. To fix this, I had to move my family back to their old lot and go through the process again. Additionally, I do not use mods or cc.15Views0likes1CommentPhotos turning black (Patch 1.121.342/2.28)
When I place photos taken with phones or cameras in my Sims’ house, they turn black when I exit the game and come back to play!!!! 😢😢 Every time I take a photo with my Sims, the picture works normally while it is in my inventory. However, whenever I place it in my Sims’ house with a frame—for example, hanging it on the wall—once I exit the game and load it again, the photo turns completely black and there is no way to recover it. This is extremely frustrating, as I am losing all the important memories of my Sims. Edit By crinrict: Adjusted Title, merged a few posts. Note by crinrict Could everyone in this thread please provide the following info Are you using mods/cc and if so, did you remove them ? What is your game version ? What platform are you playing on ? Is this happening to existing photos that were fine before the patch ? Does it happen with new photos/paintings Does it happen on new saves ? Does it matter how you take the photo or if you add any filter ? Did you play/save the save the issue is occurring on with the January patch at all (maybe different household) ? I haven’t played this specific save in a few years. I made some changes to my sims’ house and lot, and saved it to my library. I then demolished a different lot, and when I tried to place my sims’ lot from the library, I get a message saying content is not installed and that I don’t own all the content. I own almost all DLC, and I own the content used in my sims’ house/lot. I’ve never used mods/cc on this save. I’ve tried repairing the game, and then saved the lot to my library again, and deleting the previous saved copy. I still get the same message when trying to place the lot from my library on a different lot. It’s a recent issue, I didn’t have any problems a few days ago on a different save. This has been consistent through multiple saves. When my fairy casts bloom plant on an emotion berry tree that is perfect quality, it gives me normal quality berries. I used cheats to force new berries to spawn, and the same thing happened. Then, I tested a lemon tree in spring, so it was the appropriate season. I could not get fruit to spawn on that tree at all. My fairy couldn't do it, I couldn't do it with cheats, and nothing worked after removing my mods. I don't know what's up, but for some reason, the gardening plants aren't spawning harvestables correctly.15Views0likes1Comment
