Bayou Bijou World Collaboration
Welcome to another builder's collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and me soocoolsim ! Introducing Bayou Bijou, a New Orleans / Louisiana inspired world featuring seven areas: Map A - French Quarter Map B - Garden District Map C - Bayou Sauvage - Completed! Map D - Farming Area Map E - Beach Area Map F - City District Map G - Lafitte Lagoon. Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lot file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. SIM / HOUSEHOLD SUBMISSIONS The focus of the collab is on builds as the final world game save will be unpopulated, however we can link to Sims / Households created for Bayou Bijou. Bayou Bijou builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as general (eg Townie) use. Non-builders can submit Sims / Households for general (eg Townie) use. Please read the first post carefully and post in the thread that reflects your issue best. Go in order from top to bottom if you see multiple of the symptoms. The top ones are more specialized as the bottom ones. Please feel free to use this thread for general discussion of the issue, but note that this thread is NOT being tracked by Maxis any longer. The threads linked below are being actively investigated. Please follow them for any updates. Problem The save game starts to disintegrate itself. Lots start to get deleted, causing endless loading, loading into empty lots or Error Codes 800/801. Where to post It seems that in order to better track the causes for this issue, separate threads are needed. You do not need to repost any info you already posted here. There are currently different issues so please use either of these going forward. Make sure to read through the first post of each to be sure you’re posting in the correct thread. If you get a White screen after loading into world with an R-rental, please use this thread: White Screen when loading world (Patch 1.109.207) If your save is corrupting and you have a lot of r-rentals in your save game, please use this thread: [FR] Corrupted Lots/Houses disappear in saves with lots of rental units If you get Load Error 800 or 801, please use this thread Load Error Code 800/801 If your game shows all the neighboring lots as default/empty instead of the correct lot, use this thread: Neighboring Houses show as Default/Empty | EA Forums - 11903590 If you downloaded a specific lot from the gallery and that gives you endless loading/crashing when leaving the lot or trying to load into it, please use this thread: Endless Loading/Crashing when trying to load a certain lot (broken object(s). Please be aware that this issue isn't a corrupted save game. It's a corrupt lot. If you downloaded a few random lots from the gallery and you start to get endless loading with them, please use this thread: Placing lots from the gallery freezes game/endless loading If you're buildings are disappearing but the furniture is still there, use this thread: Floating furniture and building completely gone If you’re buildings are disappearing/reverts to base, you have exclamation marks or lamas on the map or the houses are different on the map and in the game (even after loading into the lot), please use this thread: Houses/Lots Disappear Troubleshooting The issue is really hard to pinpoint but there are a few things that can accelerated the issue. This issue is not mod caused but it can be influenced by mods and cheats, especially if you create lots of Residential Rental units in your save game. Save Game Size. The issue usually typically happens on larger save games. There are a few factors that contribute to save game size that you can keep an eye on Lots of huge houses with lots of objects: Try to keep those down. Consider using empty houses for set decoration if you don't play certain lots but want houses to make it look nicer Photos Sims take ingame. Try to only keep the photos you really like and that contribute to your gameplay. Delete everything else. Photos take up a lot of space in the save. Lots of Sims. The game creates Sims at abundance. Delete the ones you don't use from time to time. Usually there's nothing you can do once it starts happening.
[PS] Removing ground level floors
Removing ground level floors seems to be buggy. I can remove the floor, but it doesn't actually remove the floor, but it...does. Light still passes through as though it were not there. The attached video shows me removing the floor around a staircase. The stairs don't get deleted and the light from above can be seen in the basement which is an enclosed room with no lights. The basement room's ceiling has been removed, but that's immaterial because it does it either way. PlayStation 5. Game version 2.11. [MFPSP] Blinds not translucide
Good day, I have notice since release of the pack My first pet stuff that the blinds who were supposed to be translucide according to the promotional images were not and instead full opaque. I would like those blinds to be changed and reflect how they looked in the promotional images because I remember back then I purchase the pack only for those blinds and were super deceived to see they were instead full/opaque. It got lost in my mind for some time but always wanted to make a topic about that since we did not get what was sold to us in promotion. Also, there was a huge outrage at the time about this pack and no ones seemed to care about me talking about it on twitter since the matter of this pack existing at the time was taboo subject… anyway here are the pictures who shows translucent blinds and they looks much better that way. Thanks for considering this and fixing it. Considering you guys acknowledge things like the new kit toilet backplate being not reflecting the promotional image I figure it would be easy for you to also fix this issue. MLM pride flag doesn't render right when viewed from a distance
Typical. I was so happy when I saw that they finally realized gay men exist, but of course there's a catch. The funniest thing is that it's ONLY THAT swatch that has this issue, it's like they are doing this on purpose! I'll attach a video of it and a picture of my graphics settings. Also I apologize if someone has already reported this.
Spawned sims not moving
At this point I’ve given up on this game. I’m so over troubleshooting this game vs being able to play it, this is exhausting. My final attempt to get clarity on once another issue - it’s actually depressing, spending so much time and money on a game that never works correctly. why is this happening sims? Why is there NOTHING now in my apartment and no one can walk in? Another thing, upgrade your restriction for people to send screenshots or videos on this forum. We’re in 2025, we should be able to upload high def images to depict the issue without using third party software to downgrade the quality on said image or video *inserts eye roll*
Can't make changes to build
After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top like the eyedropper then going back to the select tool it will let me place another item, but only one. So that's why I've created this thread. A place where we can share any kind of cc out there that screams 1990's (early 2000's)! 😁 Now some of you might be thinking, "Emorrill, there's already 1990's styles in the Sims 3." True...
