I Guess I'm in a Small Group... π
...who find it difficult to make a New Sim? π I'm starting a new Challenge, just for myself. I wanted a new Sim. So I opened CAS and picked the first one. Naw, Not interested. :( I checked my Saved Sims and found one from years ago the game generated and I edited. He's cute. π I wanted a Female. After editing the face and checking back to male, it was too bland if she has sons. :( Back to random! I edited her to make something new and ended up with nearly the same FACE I always make. π€ Random, random, random... No, no, no. So, why not my favorite Sim just edited a bit more. Fine! The same Sim I've enjoyed playing for years - slightly edited. Until πΊ In Game! (my computer isn't great) I laughed because she looks so surprised. Not the Sim for me. π€ Back to my favorite. Meet Ainsley. Don't ya love the view? A Rags2Richs on the beach start. I noticed the rules don't prohibit going to University nor going into the future Such easy money into the future... But NO. You're going to fish, Girl. You're going to struggle a bit. Do you find it has hard to get a new Sim as I do? ππ *Since I see so many Adorable Sims posted, I guess I'm in a small group of Simmers. π€³21Views0likes0CommentsMissing Studio Content
Recently I was looking for an older build in my studio when I noticed that it was absent, along with many other uploads. Most of them were older builds, however some were within the last 2 years. I know what I have deleted. I had some computer problems where I had to completely re-install and so I uploaded them as safeguards. I have 2 now, one with store content and the other without, but that is another story I won't go into. π€¬The team on Cape Albacore remembers this, I am sure. lol. Has anyone else noticed this has happened to them? I am sure this is recent; I would guess within the last 3 months as I often poke around in my studio seeing what I can improve or to Dl to my other system.Solved78Views0likes7CommentsMoving older threads to Sims 3
Edit: Now that we have a Creative Corner subforum, please feel free to link posts currently in General Discussion that should be moved to CC, or Tech for that matter. Moving long threads also works somewhat better than when this this discussion started. Thank EA_David for that if you see him around. Many threads that were nominated for migration to this forum have been stuck in the Sims Franchise subforum since the transition. This is because moving threads has been difficult to impossible: it times out, it throws an error, it lies and says it succeeded when it clearly did not. The longer the thread, the less likely the move is to succeed. Point is, while the situation hasn't been fixed, it's not for lack of trying. EA community managers can move threads, as can ordinary users with special rank (that orange thing you see next to some usernames). So I thought it would be useful to have a place where people could ask for threads to be moved to the Sims 3 section. If you have a thread in mind for moving, please post here. emorrill and I (and any others who want to pitch in) will keep trying until everything is in the correct forum. Threads that are hopefully in the process of moving: none at the moment749Views11likes51CommentsWelcome to the Sims 3 forum
Welcome to the Sims 3 section of the new EA forums. We now have an entire Sims 3 subforum, with sections for General Discussion (here), Creative Corner, and Technical Issues. Site Feedback Please post your forum-related feedback in the dedicated Feedback section here: EA Forums - Questions & Feedback | EA Forums This site is not a finished product yet, so sharing feedback may make a considerable difference. If you don't like the forum yet, let the EA admins know why and how to make it better. Rules and Guidelines Please see these articles: EA Forums Rules - 19 Getting Started - Welcome to the EA Forums! | EA Forums - 26 Avatars At the moment, regular users cannot upload custom avatars. You can however choose one of a (currently small) number of EA-provided options. Click your username, select My Settings > Personal, and click the current avatar to bring up the list of images. Supported Files This forum allows direct uploads of images and text files, so have at it. You can of course still embed images uploaded to third-party sites. Use the Insert Link (paper clip) or Insert Media (camera) icon with the other formatting options above the text field. Tags This forum supports adding tags to an original post, and we recently gained a whole pile of them. So please pick the tag(s) that best describe your thread. In particular, adding at least one tag is critical in the Technical Issues subforum: make sure the helpers can find your post. EA community managers may add tags to an OP to make it more easily searchable. When searching this forum, you can filter the search by tag as well as by game or user. Reactions As of now, this forum only supports likes, no other reactions. Feel free to hand some out. They don't mean anything though. Users can see who liked each post by clicking the number next to Like at the bottom of the post. Old threads It looks like the threads from the old Sims forums have already been migrated. Feel free to keep using them.382Views16likes1CommentNeed Room for Rotational Play in Sunset Valley
I realize that not many people play the Sims 3 rotationally. At least, not many people document that type of gameplay online the way they do for the Sims 2, but I'm planning quite a big undertaking in my own personal game. I have added several families (including plans for new businesses / community lots) to Sunset Valley and plan to play them all in rotation Sims 2 style using NRAAS and other mods. However, I need room for the extra families and the expansion of descendants over time, and unfortunately there's no option to add more space via subhoods like there is in Sims 2. All that to say, does anyone have ideas / techniques (probably using create a world to modify the map I guess?) to expand Sunset Valley with more residential lots in a way that feels organic and keeps most of the premade houses intact? P.S. ~ I know it might sound like if I like Sims 2 style rotational play then I would be better off playing that game, but I love so many things about the Sims 3 like the traits, customization, and open world detail, so I feel like I could better tell my sims' stories the way I want in that game, even if it takes some tweaking to get it working the way I need it to.Roll call for TS3 builders and players
Welcome to the new forums everyone! Iβm thinking it will be great to connect with TS3 members who made the transition especially since some folks have different forum names now. Perhaps add a brief intro and link to your studio / site / blog etc. Iβll startβ¦ soocoolsim β¦ same name as on the previous sites. Active since The Sims, became more of a builder than a player with TS2 and love building in TS3 the most. The reason I asked was how do I have private message? I missed doing that. π’ And I only been used this for awhile. Because I couldn't see until I had eyes surgery and with implants and now I can see better. And will be playing Sims 3 again. It's would be cool if EA or just Sims were made just for computer from Sims City to Sims 1-4. That's would be cool. Anyway talk later.44Views0likes2CommentsShare your game, alphabet edition!
