Another dumb PORTAL change!
They've made another idiotic change... now, to play without bots with full experience, you need 20 people to start the server, which is unrealistic! Because in practice, it looks like- you start the server and wait, alone or with friends, at least an hour for just 10 people to join! and you still have to wait doing nothing for another 10 players... Now, to even play with bots and start the server, you need 8 players! Which is also unrealistic because many people don't want to play with bots! Congratulations on the idiotic changes DEVS. First, you ruined the helicopter, now it's PORTAL! You haven't touched anything important to fix the game since the release, you're just completely ruining this game. Now even create portal server is impossible because capacity is inflated by bot farm servers that nobody plays because it needs 8 players to start and they don't even take them down!even if you're lucky to create 1 after 1h you will get server in China or Africa always with 150 ping!I'm uninstalling because I'm sick and tired with this!Already changed review on Steam to NEGATIVE! Edit: Matchmaking (via the multiplayer tab) is currently horrendous in low player count regions. Players are scattered across different games/disbanded after a game ends. This often results in players being thrown into empty lobbies which are populated mostly by bots. This is especially an issue in regions that have a relatively low number of players. Portal is NOT a good alternative because the Portal servers have a much lower tickrate (30 Hz). Also, not all servers hosted on Portal are visible on the Portal server browser, and understandably so, because the browser would otherwise be cluttered. The problem is that players on South African servers struggle to find portal games because there is no option to select Africa as a search region. Please fix the portal visibility issue and the matchmaking. Edit 2: There are enough players in the low player count regions for full games. The suppression effect in BF6 is totally useless in Hardcore mode, as there is no regen of health over time. Id like to see a new supp. effect just for HC mode. A suppression effect like we had in BF3. It would bring great strategic benefits for soldiers who know how to use it in this " unforgiving " Mode.EA this 20 player game start is stupid

Fix matchmaking. We want real players. Every time I join a match lately, it feels like I’m stepping into a battlefield full of AI soldiers instead of actual players. And honestly, that kills the experience. Most of the matches I get dropped into are already in progress. That’s frustrating because I want to experience the full match — the teamwork, the rush of the first push, and the strategy that only makes sense when you play from the start. Instead, I load in halfway through a round, surrounded by bots standing still or running straight into fire. It doesn’t feel like Battlefield. And when you do start a match from the beginning, nine times out of ten you realize it only looks full — but half the lobby are bots, sometimes even eighty percent. Sure, your stats look amazing when you’re fighting AI that can’t flank or dodge, but it’s meaningless. There’s no real challenge, no tension, and no reward for skill. Battlefield is about chaos, coordination, and human unpredictability — not farming XP on static targets. I’d honestly rather wait thirty to ninety seconds longer for the game to fill with real players than have it start instantly with bots. Let the matchmaking take a bit more time — even a short delay can make the difference between a soulless bot farm and a real Battlefield match that feels alive. EA and DICE, please stop prioritizing fast starts over real matches. Give us an option to wait for a proper lobby, or raise the threshold before a game launches. Let players choose between starting now with bots or waiting for humans. Most of us will happily wait, because we’re here to play Battlefield, not Bot-tlefield.Failed Portal sencond time is beyond me...
1.They market it to give everyone a persistent server, but don't actually have the capability or willing to keep that promise. This hypocrisy is one of the biggest and fundamental reason that portal failed. They either being honest about it, only give persistent server through paid rental program, or improve their tech so player can host locally. 2.The farm. The vast majority of players aren't going to creat amazing experence in portal, that is just a fact, so don't act surprised when your game enables farming and expect plays won't take advantage of that in a game that they paid for. This is not even the first time anymore. People want fast unlocks and leveling, there is nothing wrong with that. 3. They have no F* ideas how to balance PvE, somehow they even forget the solution they had in 2042. In 2042, there is official solo and coop, and xp is time gated per min. If you don't change anything else except bot back fill, you can complete challenges in portal againts bots. Now we are getting solutions even worst than 2042. 4.They have no clue how to manage a community. Now there are some good experience made in portal, I don't see any of that been featured or promoted or supported by dice! Serously what the flying F is this Redsec gauntlet UI glitch crap. When you try to respawn, it doesn't have the mouse cursor for spawn location selection. It's already costed me so many unnecessary loses due to the random spawn even though I selected to revive on my teammates. The more you create new modes, the more glitches you introduce. I wanted to see how close I could get the experience in Portal for Bf6 to the experience of Bf2. Below are the list of changes. I know you can do more in the custom mode version. However, I don't think there will be as high of a demand to play it without full progression enabled. Mode - Conquest All except the NYC maps Flag Capture Time Multiplayer - Slight increase to cap speed (from neutral). Based on my attempts at testing this (since solo testing is no longer possible for Bf6) I believe the cap time from neutral is slightly longer than Bf2. So I increased the speed to close that gap Game Time - Increased to 1 hour Bot Backfill enabled FF on - FF reflection also on to help reduce griefing (we all remember those people from Bf2) Squad Revive - Disabled Squad Spawn - Leader only Aim Assist and Zoom Snap - Disabled Project Speed Multiplier - small increase. It seemed on average, projectile speed in Bf2 was greater than Bf6. Small increase to help close that gap Class Lock Weapons - Enabled Reload Whole magazines - Enabled Restrict Game Feedback - Enabled Spotting - Off Slide - Disabled Move Speed Multiplier - Reduction in player move speed. In Bf2 not only did you have endurance for sprinting, but it was also generally slower. This decrease will make it so the time it takes to go 100m in Bf6 is closer to the time it took in Bf2 Strafe while sprinting - Disabled Soldier Health Regeneration - Disabled Health - I kept the health at default. Playing hardcore modes, it was kind of frustrating how often you just got one shot by snipers. Which I don't think was common (outside of headshots) in Bf2. Vehicle Health Regeneration - Disabled Weapon Restrictions - I tried to match the total number of weapons for each kit in Bf2 to the total number of weapons (of that type) available in this mode. I also tried to match up the aesthetics so that there were similar looking weapons in this mode to those that were in Bf2, when it was possible. Sadly I can't do much about Carbines/DMRs/Shotguns in regards to closed weapons. Carbines are required to replicate the "Spec Ops" kit in Bf2. DMRs, I only enabled the SVD as there was an SVD in Bf2. Shotguns I kept as default as there were shotguns in Bf2. Overall there's only 8 weapons that were disabled. 1 carbine, 2 DMRs, 2 Machine Guns, and 3 SMGs. Gadgets - Only allowed gadgets that were "close" to the experience in Bf2. Engineer - Repair tool, m15 mines, AA launcher, RPG, M136 AT, MBT-LAW (Bf2 Engineer and Bf2 Anti Tank can only be in one Bf6 class) Assault - HE Grenade Launcher - I want to add the assault ladder as it will be similar to the grappling hook from the Bf2 expansion. However, it is currently bugged. I will add this in the future.
