Back at it again, HeyEA_Aljo Please read this through and pass along the feedback, thanks! Here is a list of players I think deserve a redo, who really need it. Again, I appreciate that you’ve captured some likeness, it doesnt have to be 100% identical either. Some of these have a good scan, some dont. I just dont understand the thought process behind how these are made. It kind of resembles them, but still not really. Wouldnt it be better to just do it properly from the start? This isn’t a complaint, this is just feedback that I hope gets passed along and addressed. Many of these only have issues with hair and helmet fit, which is what my previous post was about, and how customization and more options would be the solution. That way, you could fix it yourself instead of asking for updates. Players are selected based on this season, how theyve developed, established themselves in the league, and what role they have. Many already have fairly high OVR ratings and will likely be even higher in the next game. Wyatt Johnston: Hair needs to be changed, and the helmet fit as well. The scan is okay, but considering he’s developing into a superstar, an update would be justified. Anton Lundell: Hmm, the scan is okay, you can tell it’s supposed to be him. Hair needs to be changed, as well as helmet fit. Niko Mikkola: Same as Lundell. Jamie Drysdale: I think he deserves an update. The likeness is there, but ingame he doesn’t look like himself at all, something feels off. Helmet fit is too big. Zach Benson: Scan is okay! It’s good, but the hair and helmet fit ruin it. Hampus Lindholm: Needs an update. 86 ovr, longtime fulltime NHLer, one of Bostons top defensemen. Remove the beard and it doesnt look like him at all. Dawson Mercer: Again, scan is okay. 84 ovr, a quieter year, but helmet and hair ruin it. Helmet is too big, and same goes for the hair. Brandt Clarke: 23 years old, 86 ovr. Again, scan is okay and the likeness is there, but Id still like an update. Hair and helmet fit ruin it. William Nylander: Scan is okay. Something weird is happening with the hairline on the side of his face. A man of many hairstyles, but it’s been the same since he was added years ago. Being able to change hairstyles on existing face scans would be the solution. William Karlsson: 2019 playoff hero, Stanley Cup winner, 84 ovr, A on his chest, low elite. This is not a face scan, and there’s no real likeness either,he deserves to have his real face included. Tyler Bertuzzi: This speaks for itself Again, this isn’t all of them, there are more, but these are the ones I think deserve an update. Or, as I said, giving us access to fix it ourselves with a new customization system would be ideal. I know many people don’t think this matters, but I know you pay attention to details and aim to create a realistic game, this plays a big part in that. For us offline players, this matters a lot. We want a realistic hockey experience without that arcade feel. Thanks againEA_Aljo137Views2likes3CommentsNHL 27 PLAYER CUSTOMIZATION & CREATION
EA_Aljo Please read this and pass it along🙏🏻. Now that it’s being discussed to push ideas for NHL 27 (even though we’re probably too late, so I hope you’ve already thought about this). PLAYER CUSTOMIZATION & CREATION I’m very grateful for the work done with face scans over the past year, more of that would definitely be appreciated. but one thing that is still far below acceptable standards and really needs updating is the options and variety for both player customization and creation. Creating players using only preset generic faces feels extremely outdated. We need more options and choices than just 5 eyebrow styles and eye colors. Like Madden and FC, we need full face modification. Creating players in today’s NHL is honestly really boring, especially younger players, for example, if you want them to be drafted a few years later in Franchise mode. We need more options! I’m fully aware that we can’t get face scans for everyone, especially in lower leagues and junior leagues, but this would remove a lot of the disappointment and make things much easier. ALSO, we need the option to edit already assigned generic faces for players, for example Oliver Moore, being able to change hairstyle, hair color, and modify the face itself. That would make everything much easier for both you and us. For 96% of players with a generic face, it doesn’t match them at all. There can be players of fully Asian background who are given a face that doesn’t resemble them whatsoever. ALSO, let us edit more than just beards for players with face scans. I’ve noticed with your new AI technology that some players end up with very wide, oversized heads and helmets that don’t fit properly (for example Alexander Holtz), and a lot of these face scans look a little off. The option to adjust things like head width and other facial features, like in Madden and FC, would eliminate this problem, with editing options, players could at least fix that themselves. At the very least, being able to change hairstyles would be incredibly valuable. For example, Shane Pinto (attached) would need an update, this would save you from constantly needing to update players and from receiving endless requests for updates. Hockey guys change hairstyles as often as they change underwear. Something else I’ve noticed is that AI-scanned faces often have helmets that are way too big. A lot of players have oversized helmets, and it looks ridiculous. We need more options to edit equipment, especially helmet size, so people can fix it themselves if it bothers them (and it really does bother people a lot). A mode like Franchise Mode would get a whole new life from this. Being able to edit faces, hairstyles, and equipment during a season, things like helmet sizes and sticks (color, graphics, patterns), and even having the option for spraypaint on the end of the stick like many players use, would make a huge difference. This issue with helmets is something that absolutely must be fixed. This should not still be a problem in 2026. I really hope you pass this forward! EA_Aljo There are still a handful of equipment and cellys not available in all game modes. Specifically, and I’m sure there are more, newer Warrior helmets, gloves, and sticks aren’t in Chel but are available in Franchise or Be A Pro Mode. Same thing for the cellys you can purchase. You can use the newer ones in Chel, but then not take them to Franchise or Be A Pro mode. Is there a means to make sure all the equipment and cellys are available in all game modes?51Views0likes1CommentUltimate Customization for NHL27: Fixing Generic Faces and Silhouettes
One of the biggest immersion issues in the game right now is how generic players and silhouettes are handled. Across multiple modes, especially Franchise and online play, seeing blank silhouettes instead of actual player images makes the game feel unfinished. Even if a player does not have a real photo, people still want to see something that represents an actual person. There is already a system in Madden that solves this without breaking licensing rules. Let users fully edit the generic face assigned to any player or even their height and weight Once edited, replace the silhouette or licensed photo with that generic face Allow this for any player, even ones that currently have a real photo. Player "real" photo is then removed not breaking any licensing rules. It's almost like they just become a created player. For players without image rights, they can still start with a blank silhouette. But as soon as we edit the generic face that was assigned to them, that should automatically become their player image. That way every player ends up looking like a real person instead of a placeholder. I understand that in online modes you are locked to official rosters and cannot edit players. That part makes sense. But even in those modes, silhouettes should not exist. If a player does not have a licensed photo, the game should automatically use the generic face already assigned to that player as their portrait. That way online play still stays within licensing rules, but no one is looking at blank silhouettes. Right now, I end up recreating tons of players who don't have face scans every year because the default faces and hairstyles look nothing like them. It takes hours for something that should be simple, especially when we already have generic faces in the game that could be used properly. This also connects to the bigger customization gap: More hairstyles and the ability to edit hair and head size even on scanned players. New player face models especially younger looking mods. Too Many of the generic faces look old when it's now a younger game and future drafted players should look young. Real equipment options like different stick colorways and skate variations that already exist in real life Helmet size, shin pad profiles, and gear fit options Tape jobs, jersey style, and shoulder pad adjustments Customization should not stop just because a player has a scan or a licensed photo. If anything, those players should still be fully editable so we can keep things accurate over time. This includes customization within franchise mode. Players ratings are constantly changing. If we're not getting GM connected; and even if wedid, we should be able to fully edit players within franchise mode, including changing generic faces, hair styles, height, weight and especially attributes. We should not be locked out of this, Madden currently allows you to edit players attributes and ratings within franchise mode. If face scans are going to take time to roll out do to licensing and the developers, waiting for players to be worthy, at least give us the tools to bridge the gap ourselves and have complete editing in customization over generic placeholders. Fixing how generic faces and silhouettes work would be a huge step toward that, and it would improve every mode, not just Franchise. hope the developers take the time to read this and implement it in Nhl 27. Please relay to the community manager and any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!102Views2likes1CommentNeeds for NHL27: List of Players who Need face scans for NHL27
