Sims 4 Console 2.14 Update Won’t Download on PS5 (Disc Copy)
I’m unable to download the Console: 2.14 update for The Sims 4 on PS5. I have the physical disc version of the game, and every time I try to update, it gets stuck and won’t progress. I’ve been trying for several days, and the update never completes. The loading time constantly fluctuates, going as high as 25 hours, and has never gone below 12 hours. It stays stuck at “Preparing to download” or at 0%, and sometimes resets or jumps around. The update has never actually installed. As it stands, I can’t play the game at all because the update is required. What I’ve Tried So Far: Cancelled and deleted the download from the queue Rebooted PS5, unplugged power for several minutes Cleared cache and rebuilt database via Safe Mode Changed DNS settings to: Google: 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 Switched to a mobile hotspot and wired Ethernet Verified game is installed to internal storage, not external Other games and updates install just fine I’ve seen multiple players report similar issues with this patch (Console: 2.14) across Reddit and social media. Is this a known issue, and is there a fix coming soon? I’d appreciate any updates or support, as it’s frustrating not being able to play a game I physically own. It's going to wear out my port if I keep doing this, which I'm sure is the point anyway, considering there isn't much else to do about 90% of the problems I experience on this game. Can't place items? Time to unplug for 10 minutes. Can't get out of the cheat menu? Time to unplug. Game keeps crashing? Time to unplug. I have a lot of packs and kits downloaded, no cc or mods, obviously. But why is there no other way to "repair" the game without unplugging it? If you have a game this big, surely there is something EA can do for console players in this way. It's a few times a week I have to unplug if I play for even an hour every day. I have a brand new Xbox, and this shouldn't be happening as frequently as it does. This game needs better programming if it can't handle being played every day without me having to "repair" the game by unplugging my console.
Severe lag in Sims 4 on PS4
Hello, and thank you in advance for any help. I know lag in game play has been an on going issue since Sims 2 (I had lag then, too). However, the lag I am currently experiencing is in every aspect of the game. I have 2 saved games, one with cheats on and the other with trophies. In the trophies, I only have 2 families with 2 Sims each (4 Sims total). In my cheats game, I have 3 active families that range in how many Sims are in each. I also typically build micro-houses. Now that you know my gameplay style, let's talk about the lag. From the main screen, the lag occurs. My cursor doesn't move and I can't click on anything. Once I am able to move the cursor, I quickly choose my game. It takes so long to load. Once it's loaded, the same lag continues within game. There is no lag in build mode, but there is in every other aspect of the game. Even in the dressing room, there is lag. Sometimes, when the lag catches up, it makes the cursor super fast and jumps over my options by 3's. I want a red lipstick? Sorry, you can only get to green or black! (As an example). I have saved the game to my ps plus cloud, deleted it from my console, re-downloaded all the packs I have purchased, and tried playing with new Sims. The same thing happens. Then, I get a notice to tell me to wait while my graphics card (on my PS4, mind you) gets adjusted. Which doesn't change a thing. I have tried moving my game from my external memory to the console and back. This makes no difference. The hard-drive is a 2t with lots of space, so space isn't an issue. My game has all available updates. I also have purchased all but 5 kits. Does anyone know how to help with this?
Game doesn’t load my saves
Hello, Recently, every time I start my game, my saves don’t appear on the main menu — I only have the option to start a new save. There’s also a terms and conditions message that pops up, as if it’s my first time playing the game. The only way to access my save is to restart the game, and once I do, my save files are there — but it’s like the game has been reset, because I get all the “Welcome to this pack” messages again, as if I’m playing for the first time. In-game, all my settings are also reset, and I get the assistance/tutorial messages popping up too. It’s become systematic — after turning on my Xbox, I always have to restart the game a second time for my saves to appear. And as I mentioned, every time all the settings are reset. anyone experiencing the same issue ?Visual bug when you open gameplay on PS5
Description: When I open gameplay for the Sims4 it takes 10 seconds for the UI to become unusable and the screen will bounce back and forth for 20-30 seconds and then allow me to move again. During this time I can only use the PS button on my controller, all other actions are disabled. I play on ps5, I had recently just wiped my whole system to factory settings and deleted all saves and such (horrible I know..) because it seemed my game has nothing but issues and potentially corrupt files. Well I just downloaded everything fresh and new, but now trying to play TS4 I am unable to access the online gallery or even maxis gallery.. I also cannot access some settings in game options, like environmental settings, pack settings, even gameplay settings. I have nearly all the game packs(not including kits) for the game and they all are downloaded(including kits). I even checked if the game needed an update. I've tried restoring licenses, powering down my system and turning it on, deleting and re-downloading the whole game and all saved data again. Absolutely nothing seems to be working. Im not sure if my system may be corrupted and causing issues with server connections but my internet is Absolutely perfect too(meaning i did a internet test). I even thought maybe it was my extended storage so I wiped that clean too...(thats where TS4 was stored originally). I even tried playing with my sims disk inserted and without(i have the disk version and the console store version. They basically count as the same version no matter which i use.)
