Bayou Bijou World Collaboration - New builds available!
Welcome to another builder's collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and me soocoolsim ! Introducing Bayou Bijou, a New Orleans / Louisiana inspired world featuring seven areas: Map A - French Quarter - all lots taken Map B - Garden District - all lots taken Map C - Bayou Sauvage - Completed Map D - Farming Area - all lots taken Map E - Beach Area - all lots taken Map F - City District - all lots taken Map G - Lafitte Lagoon - all lots taken Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW (Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed / Reserved) Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. Edit! Effective Apr 15/25, after successfully uploading a completed cc-free build, participants may claim another lot if desired. However, max 2 claims in progress remains in place. Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed / Reserved. Next stage is for all builds to be completed. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lot file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. SIM / HOUSEHOLD SUBMISSIONS The focus of the collab is on builds as the final world game save will be unpopulated, however we can link to Sims / Households created for Bayou Bijou. Bayou Bijou builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as general (eg Townie) use. Non-builders can submit Sims / Households for general (eg Townie) use. Welcome to BNS 191: Spring Designer Showdown Spring is here, and it's time to celebrate nature and sustainability! Your sims want to celebrate spring with an outside party. Your task is to design a space that seamlessly blends the elegance of a garden party with the principles of eco-friendly living. Build a greenhouse or gardening space with room for either an indoor or outdoor party. The garden/greenhouse must be both functional and decorative. It can be any kind of party - tea party, birthday party, wedding reception, something else entirely. Whatever type of party you pick, it needs to be designed for hosting spring gatherings with seating, dining and lighting. The focus should be on eco-conscious design, with sustainable features and practices. Note: Eco Lifestyle is not required. If you don’t have the pack, use your imagination. CC is absolutely allowed. The Brief: Budget: $75000 Lot size: 30x20 or larger Build a greenhouse or garden space Set up a party area with seating, lighting, and decoration. The party should evoke the spirit of a celebratory spring gathering. Guests will need at least one bathroom Include at least three sustainable elements (e.g., solar panels, compost bins, upcycled furniture, rainwater collectors, vertical gardens). Use a spring color palette. Optional Bonus Objectives (You don't have to do all 3) : Integrate small surprises or “Easter eggs” into your design, such as hidden gnomes or bunny statues. Blend vintage and modern design styles by using repurposed materials. Incorporate unique vertical space features, such as living walls or hanging installations. Remember to include the hashtag #bns191 with your build so it can be found. Hi guys! I started playing Sims 4 just under a year ago (late last May), but I've been playing The Sims on and off for almost twenty years. Building is my favourite part of playing, so I've posted quite a few builds on the gallery over the last few months. I thought I'd post pics and links of a few of my favourites below. Sims 4 Room Challenge
http://www.demon-heart.com/sims4/doris/Logo.jpg The Sims 4 Room Challenge is meant to test your management of social activities without the presence of other Sims. You build an 8 x 8 room on any lot of your choosing, move your Sim inside, and then delete the door! Your sim may not leave the room until the challenge is complete. The final goal is to complete the Mansion Baron aspiration without ever getting a job, friends, or exiting the allotted space. ------------ Step 1: Create your Sim! Appearance is irrelevant. Make them look however you wish, and with whatever traits you wish. There's just one exception: You may NOT choose the "Loner" trait. Mine is Doris Dolores. I made her a rather finicky Sim with the Outgoing Trait for extra challenge! Doris can be found in the gallery under #theroomchallenge or under my username katoregama. She's just my mascot though. Feel free to make your own. However, you may only have ONE SIM in the household. http://www.demon-heart.com/sims4/doris/doris-01.jpg ------------ Step 2: Add traits and aspirations. Again you may NOT use "Loner". All other traits or starting aspirations are acceptable. Bear in mind however, you are not allowed to switch Aspirations until you reach a point where they are completed, or impossible to complete. Choose wisely! I did NOT choose wisely, as Doris's Gregarious trait will not help her in any way during the challenge. You get to use all of the game's initial starting funds to help you get on your feet. I chose Bargain Bend in Willow Creek, but every lot is available as long as they are empty and bulldozed when you move in. Once you do, build an 8 x 8 square room. You don't necessarily HAVE to build a box, but keep the maximum tiles around 64. http://www.demon-heart.com/sims4/doris/doris-03.jpg ------------ Step 4: Feel free to make your house look nice and pretty, and again, use whatever starting funds the game has available inside or out. http://www.demon-heart.com/sims4/doris/doris-04.jpg ------------ Step 5: Move your Sim inside, then DELETE the front door. http://www.demon-heart.com/sims4/doris/doris-05.jpg ------------ Step 6: Your home is your castle, be it ever so humble. So humble in fact you've only got an 8 x 8 grid to work with. However, you can fill the inside with any decorations, furniture, skill objects, toys, computers or whatever you please. Keep in mind you will need to make money without ever getting a job or leaving, so things like fishing and collecting are out. Painting, Programming, Gardening, or Microscoping are all valid means of obtaining income. You are more than welcome to build anywhere on your lot to achieve the objectives, such as 30 windows, 20 columns, and a final lot value of $350,000. You may check your progress on Mansion Baron at any time, but again, you may NOT select a new aspiration until your current one is complete or impossible. That's it! http://www.demon-heart.com/sims4/doris/doris-08.jpg ------------ SIM RULES 1. Create any Sim you choose from scratch. They may look like whatever you wish. 2. Your Sim may start off with any traits or aspirations you wish EXCEPT "Loner". 3. A hard-mode would require your sim to take the "Outgoing" trait. GETTING STARTED 1. Choose any lot you wish, as long as you bulldoze every object from the lot before moving in. 2. A small 20 x 15 lot is recommended to give you maximum starting funds. 3. Build an 8 x 8 square room. Foundations are acceptable. You may build a porch and front door at the start. 4. Move your sim into the room, then delete the door. They may not leave under any circumstances. 5. You may only use ONE SIM in the household. BUILDING RULES 1. Walls may be any height. 2. You may NOT build a staircase to the second floor. 1 Floor Only. 3. Access to a mailbox is allowed, but only if it is in a location within the acceptable confines of your 8 x 8 room. 4. The above is possible by having a corner of the room outside, but fenced off. The mailman won't be able to use the postbox, but you can! EXAMPLES: 12 5. You may place any objects, beds, skill objects, or furniture within the confines on your room. 6. You may place walls and doors within your room. 7. You don't necessarily have to build a boring cube if you don't want to. Just keep the final floor plan around 64 tiles, and it will be fine. 8. You can build an outdoor area of your room, or make the entire room a fenced off outdoor area, as long as it fits within the space, and prohibits communication with other sims. GAMEPLAY RULES 1. When gameplay begins your final goal is to complete the Mansion Baron aspiration. 2. 30 windows, 20 columns and $350,000 worth of stuff? Yes, you ARE allowed to build outside of your room. 3. You can build anything, anywhere, at any time, as long as your sim never leaves their 8 x 8 area. 4. You may NOT switch aspirations once one is selected, until it become impossible to complete, or is completed. 5. The exception to the above, is Mansion Baron. You can switch to it at any time to track your primary progress. 6. You may spend points on any rewards you wish, excluding the "Independent" reward, and "Moodlet Solver" 7. Your sim is not allowed to have a job, making money gains difficult. 8. You may turn aging on or off as desired. SCORING You START with a score of 100 points. - 1 for every day that passes, excluding day 1. - 10 for every time the social need reaches critical. - 10 every time utilities are shut off from unpaid bills. +10 for every skill that reaches level 10. +5 for ANY Aspiration Stage you complete.*** ***You cannot complete any aspirations requiring you to leave home or make friends. So you will not be able to complete many aspirations in full.
