Bayou Bijou Collab Completed - World save and Part 4 video released!
Welcome to another builder's collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and me soocoolsim ! Introducing Bayou Bijou, a New Orleans / Louisiana inspired world featuring seven areas. Our collaboration has been a success. Thank you to all participants! BAYOU BIJOU BASE WORLD (empty lots) This is a flat vanilla world created by Hidehi2 and is very loosely based on New Orleans or anywhere in the Louisiana Bayou country. Included are French Quarter, Garden and City Districts, Beach and Farming areas and two Bayous. The base world includes a mix of 93 empty residential and community lots. Since a fully loaded Bayou Bijou includes many highly detailed builds, we recommend you adjust your in-game settings lower for optimal gameplay. Download and install the empty base world Download and extract the world save file Place the extracted folder under .... \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves before launching your game BACKGROUND (Edit! July 5/25 - The collab is complete. The following instructions are for reference only) Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. Edit! Effective Apr 15/25, after successfully uploading a completed cc-free build, participants may claim another lot if desired. However, max 2 claims in progress remains in place. Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed. See the Map listings for links to completed builds. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third-party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lot file before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. Once your build is available on the Exchange, please post a reply on this thread including: Name of build / map reference and/or address / download link / cover picture / custard screenshot confirming no 3rd party custom content included. SIM / HOUSEHOLD SUBMISSIONS The focus of the collab is on builds as the final world game save will be unpopulated, however we can link to Sims / Households created for Bayou Bijou. Bayou Bijou builders can submit Sims / Households for their completed claims as well as general (eg Townie) use. Non-builders can submit Sims / Households for general (eg Townie) use. Welcome to BNS 195: Back to School! The morning sun cuts across the sleek lines of your desk as the door swings open. A trio of clients steps inside, each representing a rapidly growing neighborhood in dire need of educational infrastructure. They’ve come with blueprints, hopes, and a healthy dose of design drama. First to speak is Councilman Ignacio Pancakes, gesturing to renderings of a vibrant, kid-friendly campus. “Landgraab Elementary is bursting at the seams! We need a new space—bright, playful, and structured to support the curiosity of early learners. Can you design a school that nurtures imagination as much as education?” Then strides in Principal Johnny Zest, tossing down a folder marked 'Plumbob High'. “We’re preparing teens for tomorrow, but our current high school feels like yesterday. We’re talking labs, auditoriums, sports fields—something sleek and inspirational. Think you can capture teenage ambition in bricks and mortar?” Finally, the chair of the Newcrest Planning Board unrolls an ambitious proposal. “Why settle for one? What if we built the future? A full K–12 campus—modern, unified, tailored to all ages. The Newcrest Horizon School would be a flagship of education in Sim Nation. Care to rise to the challenge?” The Brief: Choose one of the three proposed projects and design a school that meets the needs of its community. Any lot size. Landgraab Elementary – Capacity: 8–12 children Features: At least 4 classrooms, cafeteria, library, art room, outdoor play area Style: Whimsical, modern suburban Budget: §120,000 Plumbob High School – Capacity: 10–15 teens Features: Science & computer labs, auditorium, gymnasium, cafeteria, library, faculty lounge. Style: Contemporary institutional or Brutalist flair Bonus: Drama room or rooftop hangout for storytelling. Budget: §175,000 Newcrest Horizon K–12 – Cohesive, multi-age campus of the future Capacity: 20+ Sims across child and teen age groups Features: Zoned areas for elementary and high school levels, shared cafeteria, gym, library, and green spaces Style: Futuristic or eco-conscious. Bonus: Include a dorm for out-of-town students. Budget: §250,000 As always, each building requires landscaping! Optional: Pick a mascot for your school. The Sim challenge: Create some faculty members for your chosen school - a principal and at least one teacher minimum. You can choose all of their names, traits, preferences, etc. Show all of their outfits. The Room challenge: Design a cozy, stylish faculty lounge—but don’t stop there. Embed a secret. Something odd, mysterious, or emotionally loaded that only faculty know about. Must have comfortable seating for at least three sims, a food or drink station. Include decor that nods to faculty personalities - a favorite book, a stray soccer ball, awards, posters. But the room has a secret - what that is is up to you, be it a message board with cryptic messages, a locked closet no one can find the key to, or something else. I have more than three builds. I build spaceships, floating palaces, secret military labs, medieval strongholds, haunted mansions and other otherwordly structures. 💥100% CC FREE!💥 In the next post you will discover a LOT INDEX with links to the Lot specific posts on this thread. This thread, including the LOT INDEX, will be updated each time I share a new build on the gallery. * Anyways, we'll see how this one goes. Welcome to my many, not so humble humble abodes & enjoy! <3 Gallery ID: CPTN_NXR7 hashtag:#CPTNNXR7 🔥Couple of Important Notes so you know WHAT and WHO you're dealing with:🔥 My builds are 100% original: I will NEVER edit and share other people's sims content on the gallery. I know I can, but I just won't. Note that some of my builds are loosely inspired by real world architecture & places. I NEVER share shells. All my builds are fully furnished and carefully landscaped. I NEVER use CC. It's all vanilla ice cream. I NEVER use the TOOL mod. My builds won't explode as soon as you touch something in build mode. I don't know if that actually happens to builds when TOOL's been used, but it will definitely not happen with my builds. Better safe than sorry. I DO use Move Objects On (MOO) but this should NOT affect routing. I use MOO sparingly. Just don't touch anything, please. The build might implode. That was a joke. I ALWAYS playtest and try to ensure there are NO routing issues. If you do happen to encounter routing issues, there could be something wrong with your computer. I am only human, your computer however, is not. Your computer is not. Your computer is not. I own many packs and I will use anything that I believe will make my builds look snazzy. If you're missing a specific blade of grass, that's not my fault. Do you have a special Request? I'm a busy man. Convince me. 😎 *you may experience some delay because I am fast but I'm not that fast.
