EA Games has completely buried the Need for Speed series by breaking the core driving physics and turning the visual style into something cartoonish and disconnected from real street racing. What was once a serious and immersive street racing game has devolved into a shallow arcade with unrealistic car behavior. Instead of constantly reinventing the wheel, EA should return to the proven concepts that players love: – the night racing atmosphere from NFS Underground, – the intense police chases from Most Wanted, – and the official race events from ProStreet — all combined into one game with realistic, predictable car physics and modern visuals. The core problem is that the current physics feel broken and unconvincing — cars don’t behave like real vehicles, but more like toy models. For example, performing a 360° spin at full speed using the handbrake is completely impossible — instead of smoothly rotating, the car freezes in place. This is just one example of how the physics fail to deliver a believable driving experience. Players want a physics system that feels real, responsive, and predictable — where cars react logically and skilled driving is rewarded. This is the real formula for success and strong sales. Everything needed is already there — no need to chase trends or add shallow gimmicks. Bring back the classic gameplay mechanics and concepts that made NFS great, enhancing them with modern graphics and proper, realistic driving physics.
I don't see any friends!
Hi! After hearing that the servers will shut down in October, I launched NFS Rivals on my PS4. However, I immediately encountered a major problem: I can never see any of my friends in my Friends list. My EA account is linked to my PlayStation account, and after trying everything (redownloading and restarting Rivals, restarting the console, removing and re-adding friends, friending people in the same game session as me, changing sessions to private or with friends, etc.), I still can't see any of them and therefore can't earn the two online trophies. Now I'm desperate and would really like to know if there's a solution to this annoying problem! Thank you in advance for all your help! EA, here's a message I'd like you to check out. I'm a fan of the Need for Speed game series. It may take as long as it takes to release the new game in the franchise, but I wanted to share my opinion to further improve the player experience. Some fans have been criticizing the most recent Need for Speed titles for a while now, but maybe if you listened to them? Take their opinions and incorporate them into the new title? It would be a turnaround for all those who criticize the series. My opinion. Regarding the game itself, the story in Need for Speed is already good, but there's room for improvement. First of all, make more cutscenes because Need for Speed's unique feature is its story. So, making more cutscenes and making them longer would, in my opinion, make the game more enjoyable and exciting. I wish I could help a lot more with this aspect; I already have a complete story to include in the game. Hello, With the announcement of the NFS Rivals server shutdown scheduled for October 7, 2025, I wanted to revisit the game and earn the two remaining online trophies I’m missing. I bought the PS4 version back in March 2020, and at the time I had no issues connecting to the servers. However, when launching the game now, I'm prompted with a message with a QR code asking me to reset my EA account password. I did so, but the message kept appearing even after changing the password successfully. After doing some research, I found that this might be due to my PSN account not being linked to my EA account. I checked on myaccount.ea.com, and indeed, no PSN account was listed. When I tried to link it, I received an error saying that my PSN account was already associated with another EA account, using an email ending in @disabled.ea.com. I’m not sure why my PSN was linked to a disabled EA account, so I contacted EA Support. They were able to unlink it and re-link it correctly to my main EA account. However, when I try to join an online game in NFS Rivals on PS4, I get Error 40010000. Since I also own the game on PC, I decided to test it there to see if the issue occurred on that platform as well, and unfortunately it does, but this time with Error 80070000. To rule out any local issue, I deleted the game and my save data on both PS4 and PC, then reinstalled the game, but the problem persisted in both cases. On my EA account page, I can see that both my PSN and Steam accounts are correctly linked, and all three accounts (EA, Steam, and PSN) use the same email address. I’ve tested other Need for Speed titles on PC (NFS Unbound, NFS 2015, NFS Most Wanted 2012), and they all connect to EA servers without any problem. It seems the issue is specific to NFS Rivals and my account, regardless of the platform I use. One additional detail that may be relevant: I changed my EA username in December 2020, several months after I last played NFS Rivals. I don’t know if that could have had any impact on this issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I’d appreciate any help or suggestions to resolve this.
