Clearance of the "confusing" info about NFS Rivals closure
Hello everyone, I started this discussion topic because I'm confused on the Need for Speed Rivals server closure. Thing is, the decomissioned titles page says that the game is going to shut down on October 7th, 2025. But the thing is mentions "PlayStation, Xbox 1, PC" (why listing the platforms like that??) Honestly what kind of confusing things are here? If the game shuts down, will be closed on all platforms? Meaning it will close on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC? If so, why there's no announcement of said closure here on forums on NFS's social media? It's because Criterion it's focused helping DICE on Battlefield 6 and they can't post a announcement of this game's closure? Pfft. Also , why not extending the life of the servers for one or two more months? You're shutting down this game on PS3/360 but it's ilogical that you're still having NFS Most Wanted 2012 and NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 online on said platforms. What a "logic". So, can you clear up the info about Rivals? I honestly find it confusing. Thanks.SolvedThe Future of NFS — Bring Back True Street Racing with Realistic Physics
EA Games has completely buried the Need for Speed series by breaking the core driving physics and turning the visual style into something cartoonish and disconnected from real street racing. What was once a serious and immersive street racing game has devolved into a shallow arcade with unrealistic car behavior. Instead of constantly reinventing the wheel, EA should return to the proven concepts that players love: – the night racing atmosphere from NFS Underground, – the intense police chases from Most Wanted, – and the official race events from ProStreet — all combined into one game with realistic, predictable car physics and modern visuals. The core problem is that the current physics feel broken and unconvincing — cars don’t behave like real vehicles, but more like toy models. For example, performing a 360° spin at full speed using the handbrake is completely impossible — instead of smoothly rotating, the car freezes in place. This is just one example of how the physics fail to deliver a believable driving experience. Players want a physics system that feels real, responsive, and predictable — where cars react logically and skilled driving is rewarded. This is the real formula for success and strong sales. Everything needed is already there — no need to chase trends or add shallow gimmicks. Bring back the classic gameplay mechanics and concepts that made NFS great, enhancing them with modern graphics and proper, realistic driving physics.I strongly request EA to bring MW2012 to the next generation platform
I strongly request the ea official to pay attention to MW2012, it is definitely an underestimated generation I strongly request that MW 2012 remaster can be ported to modern platforms such as PS4/PS5, and also ported to XBOX SERIES X/S, XBOX One, or let XBOX SERIES X/S, XBOX One get backward compatibility to run XBOX360 version of MW 2012. Although MW2012 is a game from 13 years ago, its picture quality is still incredibly real. Even now, its picture quality can still give players a sense of surprise. Its picture quality still amazes players. For the next generation of needforspeed, my suggestion is that the Ul interface should learn from MW2012, and the police and criminal wanted heat system should also learn from MW2012. The graphics quality of MW2012 is still great now, and it looks very close to reality, although MW2012 is a game from 13 years ago. It is best not to use the Frostbite engine for needforspeed anymore, and switch to Unreal or Chameleon engine, EAGL is also suitable.SolvedWill NFS Rivals on PS3 and Xbox 360 get shut down too?
Hello. This question might seem a bit weird, but I just want a bit of clarification. As we all know EA recently announced that NFS Rivals for PS4, Xbox One, and PC will shut down in October. I am not protesting against this or anything, game is 12 years old almost, etc etc. What I need clarification about is if the 7th gen versions (PS3 and Xbox 360) are getting shut down too. I know it's likely they'll be affected too, but I just want a bit of clarification.SolvedUnable to Connect to NFS Rivals Servers (Error 40010000 on PS4 / 80070000 on PC)
Hello, With the announcement of the NFS Rivals server shutdown scheduled for October 7, 2025, I wanted to revisit the game and earn the two remaining online trophies I’m missing. I bought the PS4 version back in March 2020, and at the time I had no issues connecting to the servers. However, when launching the game now, I'm prompted with a message with a QR code asking me to reset my EA account password. I did so, but the message kept appearing even after changing the password successfully. After doing some research, I found that this might be due to my PSN account not being linked to my EA account. I checked on myaccount.ea.com, and indeed, no PSN account was listed. When I tried to link it, I received an error saying that my PSN account was already associated with another EA account, using an email ending in @disabled.ea.com. I’m not sure why my PSN was linked to a disabled EA account, so I contacted EA Support. They were able to unlink it and re-link it correctly to my main EA account. However, when I try to join an online game in NFS Rivals on PS4, I get Error 40010000. Since I also own the game on PC, I decided to test it there to see if the issue occurred on that platform as well, and unfortunately it does, but this time with Error 80070000. To rule out any local issue, I deleted the game and my save data on both PS4 and PC, then reinstalled the game, but the problem persisted in both cases. On my EA account page, I can see that both my PSN and Steam accounts are correctly linked, and all three accounts (EA, Steam, and PSN) use the same email address. I’ve tested other Need for Speed titles on PC (NFS Unbound, NFS 2015, NFS Most Wanted 2012), and they all connect to EA servers without any problem. It seems the issue is specific to NFS Rivals and my account, regardless of the platform I use. One additional detail that may be relevant: I changed my EA username in December 2020, several months after I last played NFS Rivals. I don’t know if that could have had any impact on this issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I’d appreciate any help or suggestions to resolve this. Thanks in advance!E.a. killed nfs rivals !!
Very dissapointed in e.a. they killed nfs rivals a 12 year old game and other games of 15 years they let it online ! e.a. don’t give nothing of there customers while rivals is very Mutch alive they pulled the plug !! never spend 1 dollar again on your games e.a. if you kill the game then the money is gone spend for nothing I bough rivals 2 x with all the dlc it has cost a lot and now they just take it from you , never againSolvedNeed for Speed A Legacy-Driven Future Concept From a Long Time Fan (client)
Dear Electronic Arts / Need for Speed Team, I hope you are doing well. I am writing as someone who has played Need for Speed since childhood and who deeply respects what this franchise represents. Need for Speed shaped my love for cars, speed, and street culture at a time when I knew nothing about how games were made. That history is the reason I am reaching out. To be honest, I am also writing out of concern. I am afraid that we may not see another true Need for Speed in the future, especially while other companies continue to push racing games forward. I know Electronic Arts is a large and experienced team that has created incredible experiences for decades, which is why I hesitated but also why I felt this idea was worth sharing. This concept is inspired by both the direction of today’s world and the legacy of Need for Speed itself. The automotive world is rapidly shifting toward electric vehicles, automation, and AI-controlled transportation. While this evolution has its place, many car enthusiasts feel disconnected from it. Electric and robotic cars can feel efficient but soulless like toys rather than machines. Real driving, real sound, and real danger are slowly disappearing. Setting: The year is 2099. Governments have fully banned gas-powered vehicles worldwide. Human driving is illegal. Cities are built exclusively for electric and autonomous transport systems controlled by AI. Despite this, underground communities still exist. These racers, mechanics, and engineers refuse to let real cars die. Gas-powered vehicles are no longer outdated they are forbidden. Core Experience: The player is part of an outlaw crew that keeps combustion cars alive. Races take place at night through futuristic cities, abandoned highways, deserts, and industrial ruins. Every race is a risk, not just against other drivers, but against AI enforcement units designed to eliminate illegal vehicles. Electric AI cars are silent, precise, and perfectly coordinated. Gas cars are loud, aggressive, unstable and human. Narrative Drive: During a major underground operation, chaos erupts across the city. One of your crew members is captured by AI units after mass destruction and pursuit. Instead of ending the story, this becomes the motivation to go further to rise through the underground, unlock restricted zones, destroy AI vehicles, and fight back against a system trying to erase real driving. Legacy Element (Key Idea): As the story expands, the player begins discovering remnants of Like access parallel realities finally fuses , past Need for Speed eras. Entire cities once known for legendary street racing inspired by locations like those from Most Wanted, Hot Pursuit, and other classic titles are now locked, abandoned, or repurposed by AI control. You find former racers from earlier generations. Some are retired. Some are hiding. Some are old, bitter, or broken but they still remember. These characters once ruled the streets and now join the resistance in different ways: mentors, specialists, or even playable characters. At certain points, the player can switch characters, each with unique driving styles, histories, and emotional weight. This turns the game into a preservation of Need for Speed’s legacy not just cars, but people, cities, and stories that shaped the franchise. Theme: This is not just a racing game. It is about freedom versus control, legacy versus erasure, and saving the soul of driving itself and in a way, saving Need for Speed inside its own future. I fully understand that Electronic Arts receives many messages and cannot accept unsolicited ideas in detail. My intention is simply to share a concept born from respect for the franchise and genuine love for car culture. Thank you for the memories you created throughout my childhood and for continuing to inspire players around the world
