0.30.2 Patch Notes | All Platforms | Live on March 24 The double grinds, pop-less grind exits, low pop height, and grind assist issues have been a top priority of ours to address following the launch of Season 3. In this update, we were able to patch all but the double grinds issue. Developer’s Note: We are planning to bring back popout double grinds in 0.30.5, our next update. While these were originally a glitch rather than an intended mechanic, we see the value in having them, and players have told us they enjoy them too. But, we need a bit more time to get these working in tandem with the updated Grind Popouts. Thank you for your patience! Update will start rolling out across all platforms at the daily reset at 10AM PDT/ 5PM UTC with no downtime/server maintenance. Bug Fixes General Fixed an issue where low pop tricks were harder to perform than intended. Fixed an issue where players were sometimes unable to exit a grind popless. Fixed an issue where players were reset in mid-air after repeatedly bouncing on Quick Drop Objects. Fixed an issue where players could get stuck in an air Coffin, even after releasing the input buttons. Fixed an issue where a raised bump on a ramp in the Lower Spillway of Isle of Grom was unintentionally hindering gameplay. Fixed several holes on the Isle of Grom that could result in players falling under the playable map. Fixed an issue where a player could rarely get charged twice when purchasing a skate.Premium Pass. Developer’s Note: We've pushed a back-end fix to stop the double-charge issue some players experienced when purchasing the skate.Premium Pass. We’ve processed refunds of the overcharge to those impacted. We've also added an error message to indicate you’ve encountered this bug. Please reach out to us on the forums if you’re still experiencing this issue. Fixed an issue for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One where doing a Held trick mistakenly results in a double trick and then the board adjusts. Fixed various stability and performance issues. UI Fixed an issue where changed settings would reset to their defaults. Developer’s Note: Due to a change in how we store settings, some settings were unintentionally changed in Update 0.30.1. Players who were affected will need to readjust to their previous settings, but should not have to re-save after this update. With Update 0.30.2, this bug fix should more reliably save changes you make to settings. We’ll continue to monitor this fix closely. Fixed an issue where the Welcome and Starter Park bundles in the store accidentally displayed strikethrough UI. Fixed an issue that prevented some Achievements or Trophies from unlocking correctly. Fixed an issue that prevented the Barrel Jumper title from being awarded to subscribers as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Supercharge Pack 3, and PlayStation Plus Essentials Season 3 Play Pack. Developer’s Note: Anyone who’s already redeemed their Xbox or PlayStation subscription rewards will now see this title amongst their Rip Card options after updating skate.111Views2likes0Commentsskate. 0.30.1 Patch Notes
Welcome to the 0.30.1 patch notes! The maintenance period for this patch begins on March 10, 8:55 a.m. PDT, and includes bug fixes, new features, gameplay improvements, and more for all platforms. Originally, this patch was going to be released as 0.30.0, but we had the ability to add a few more bug fixes to address pressing issues, so it will now be released as the new and improved patch 0.30.1. If you haven’t yet, take a look at our Season 3 article to learn more about your Return to Isle of Grom, and new skateable areas, Challenges, Seasonal Events, brands, soundtracks, and more coming to skate. in Season 3. Hub New Features Gameplay Improvements UI Improvements PC Graphics and Performance Updates Bug Fixes New Known Issues for Season 3 New Features Isle of Grom skate.Premium Pass Access Visit the new Ferry Terminal in Blue Light Beach to take the Wet N’ Mild Taxi Co. boat to and from Isle of Grom. For more details about Isle of Grom, visit our Season 3 article. Dark Catches and Darkslides Darkslides and Dark Catches are a fan favorite, returning from previous Skate games with some new improvements. Getting into a Dark Catch is done by holding RB/R1 before or right after performing any flip trick (including Impossible flip tricks from Season 2). Landing into a slide on a rail or ledge while holding a Dark Catch will start a Darkslide, which can now also be leaned and grind adjusted. When exiting, you can Flip Trick out to get some pop with it, or lean exit to ride out smoothly. You'll also find a few new settings to control when and how Dark Catches and Slides are released. Visit Skatepedia for more information about these new tricks. Developer’s Note: After getting the foundational mechanics into a good place, we're excited to add Darkslides and Dark Catches to skate. Similar to our approach with most legacy mechanics, we wanted to ensure Darkslides and Catches feel familiar, are integrated with other new additions to the franchise—such as flip speed control and grind leans—and have been expanded upon to provide more self expression. Tasks Expanded and diversified Tasks, including new varieties that can be completed conveniently while skating. Developer’s Note: We received feedback that some of the previous Tasks were too difficult or tedious to complete. In response, we’re introducing a wider variety of Tasks designed to complement your skating experience, rather than dominate it. Party Collision This feature allows you to collide with others in your party while skating together, adding to the chaos (and fun) of your seshes. Party Collision is disabled by default, but can be enabled in the Settings tab of the Social menu. Developer’s Note: You may experience collision accuracy and timing discrepancies when using this setting. We hope you enjoy this chaotic, but fun, new way to play with your party, and look forward to your feedback. Character Customization Options 4 new Hair and 5 Tattoo options have been added to the Character Customizer. Developer’s Note: 32 ** additional Tattoos can be acquired from Missions, the Skate Paddy’s event, the skate. Pass (Standard and Premium), and the new Essentials Shop. Skater Presets You can now configure up to 3 unique Skater Presets, including appearance and clothing. Additional preset slots can be purchased for 250 San Van Bucks. Maximum 10 slots. Store Up to 5 Product Boxes can now be bought in a single purchase, making your transactions more streamlined. An Essentials Shop was added to the Store, with options for Tattoos, Boards and more. Gameplay Improvements Bonelesses Improved responsiveness, reliability, and behavior of Boneless tricks performed from the ground or transitions. This change also applies to Fastplants and Bean Plants. Developer’s Note: We needed to make some large changes to how Bonelesses were originally implemented in order to improve their consistency and quality. A side effect of these underlying changes was the removal of some Boneless-specific “pop glitches.” Seasonal Missions Some Missions are now only available for the duration of the season they release in. Replay Editor Added an Effects Tab that lets you control Exposure, Color Temperature, Color Saturation, Barrel Distortion, and Vignette (Opacity, Size, Sharpness). Added more granular volume control over your skater's audio, other skaters’ audio, and world ambience. Playback speed can now be keyframed as well. Developer’s Note: Pair the Barrel Distortion effect with a wide Field of View to get that classic Fisheye effect you know and love. UI Improvements Throwdowns A notification system to highlight nearby Throwdowns has been added. You can toggle this feature on via the settings and also control the types of Throwdown notifications you see. Sense of Speed Audio Improvements Improved passbys and tunnel transitions Challenge Celebrations During the celebration screen for Challenges and Throwdowns, your skater’s first equipped Gesture will be played. You can control the Gesture that’s performed by using LB/L1 and the D-pad. Tasks Weekly and Monthly Tasks are now grouped in the UI for increased readability. Player Status A status communicating whether you’re in an activity, menu, or away has been added to the Social and Spectate menu. Store You can now preview items in the Store by hovering over them. We’ve also added a side navigation bar to make browsing the Store more efficient. PC Graphics and Performance Updates Replacing PC benchmark To give you a better PC performance experience, we're updating how we score users Render GPUs and CPUs based on live data. The new scoring system will slot each card into a more accurate global graphics quality tier. This change could potentially move some players up or down in visual quality, in favor of a better performance experience. If you’ve been having performance issues, try resetting your graphics settings to default. Render FPS Adds an explicit 30/60/uncapped FPS render setting. "Uncapped" FPS render setting runs at up to 240 FPS Improves handling of FPS in full-screen mode, particularly when other refresh rates are chosen. V-Sync Defaults V-Sync to ON as we believe this will give most players a better experience. Improves handling of V-Sync in full-screen mode. Multiple Handplant variants can now be chained back-to-back within the same plant. Developer’s Note: When it comes to Flip Tricks, proper Impossibles have been a common request. So, we've not only added new gestures and animations for base Impossible Flips, but also, new variations like Nollies and Front-Foots to give you more options. On the vert skating side, we've also revamped Handplants to feel better, give more control, and fill out all the missing trick variants we didn't get to at Early Access launch. We’re looking forward to seeing these new additions show up in clips, expand your options for lines, and provide more variation for challenges. We are always looking for ways to enhance the experience and give as much control over your skater and experience as possible. Darkslides and more will be coming in future seasons, but until then, we hope you enjoy these updates and look forward to your feedback so we can keep improving the skating experience. Challenges A bevy of Challenges spread across the Casper Hotel Rooftop, Road Tunnel, Building Roof Patio, and Canal Buildings, and the rest of San Van are powersliding into Season 2. We’ve made big improvements to how we deliver and refresh Seasonal Challenges based on community feedback—Seasonal Challenges will still drop each week, but we’ll also reset them twice over the season, giving you more opportunities to earn Tix. Each individual challenge won’t give quite as many Tix, but over the season you’ll be able to earn more than twice the Tix from Seasonal Challenges, not including the Tix you can also earn from the new Own the Lots. Plus, the amount of challenges dropping per week in Season 2 has been increased. For a full breakdown of these changes, including how many more Tix you’ll earn each season, visit our Season 2 article. Missions Point of Impossibility will bring you underground on a hunt for the place where the Impossible was first landed in San Van. The Mission is unlocked after completion of Shingo's Secret Scoring Tips mission in Tour 2. Completing Point of Impossibility rewards you with 500 Tix and three new Props. Coping Inspector will take you to the rooftops for some Handplant practice at a handful of the newly added rooftop spots, and unlocks after completion of The Gift of Grab mission in Tour 3. Completing Coping Inspector rewards you with 500 Tix, the Coping Inspector title, and a Rooftop Fast Travel Point. Tasks Rotation Changes: Weekly Tasks will last three weeks, giving you time to catch up on any missed Tasks. Seasonal Tasks are now Monthly Tasks. Developer’s Note: This change was made to Seasonal Tasks to inject more variety and rewards into your experience. Auto-claim Task rewards Now, if you forget to manually claim your Task rewards, they will automatically appear within 24 hours of when the Task ended as a login message. New Character Customization Options 5 hair, 2 facial hair, and 3 eye shape customization options have been added to the character creator. Advanced Edit Mode For Replay Editor An Advanced Edit Mode has been added to the Replay Editor with these additional options: Trim replay Add, edit, and navigate keyframes, interpolating between camera types and camera targets. Adjust camera type, target, field of view, tilt, roll, and framing for each keyframe. Export settings have been moved to the Advanced Edit Mode. Party Voice Chat You can now activate Party Voice Chat from the Party Settings, and converse with their party members using a microphone. Whomever is currently speaking will have their name displayed on screen with the appropriate mic status icons. You can choose to mute individual party members and not hear their voice audio. This only affects you, not the rest of the party. Party Beacons Party Up? is now available as a statement in the Communications Wheel. Using this statement drops a beacon in the world that other players can interact with to join your party. Your beacon is automatically cleared when the party is full or if you join another party. skate.Pass Developer’s Note: Community conversations have made it clear that you want more ways to play, earn Tix, and express yourself through cosmetics. In Season 1 the skate.pass was designed to help you earn the items you wanted most. But we learned that many of you enjoy the feeling of completing the skate.Pass from start to finish. For Season 2, we’re aiming to support both approaches. We’ve tuned the amount of Tix required to unlock rewards pages on the skate.Pass. You will also find we added a bit more SVB for you to collect this time around. We’re also actively considering additional places where Tix can be exchanged outside the skate.Pass, such as at Extravert. All in all, the Season 2 skate.Pass will have tighter scaling to promote quicker progression through the earlier pages of the skate.Pass. Legacy skate.Pass Legacy skate.Pass lets you keep progressing and claiming rewards from the premium pass you bought last season while the new season is live. Only your most recent previous premium skate.pass is eligible. Any progress you make from earning Tix will be applied to both your Season 1 Legacy skate.Pass and your Season 2 skate.Pass. News Read up on what’s new in skate. News will display when you enter the game, or can be accessed at any time from the main menu. Vee Reduced frequency and adjusted triggers for Gameplay Vee dialogue. Developer’s Note: We heard your feedback that Vee was commenting a bit too often during free skate. We’ve adjusted both the frequency and timing of Vee’s lines to create a quieter experience. And if you prefer to do your tricks in total silence, the option to fully mute Vee while free skating is still available. SEASON 2 KNOWN ISSUES There is an additional stuttering issue present when using the replay editor in-game, noticeable as skipped frames. This is separate from the exported video issue fixed in the 0.29.1 Patch Notes. Stalled exported replay videos if going into the menus while recording. Sometimes, putting the game on fullscreen and leaving it minimized for three or four minutes will prevent the player from re-opening it until the game is restarted. Often the Team Up, Throw Down mission does not end until the player untracks and retracks the mission. The Throwdowns queue timer freezes after all other players leave the queue. When the player accepts an invitation, the invitation pop-up appears again and an error modal shows up. During Stop, Quick Drop, and Roll Mission the fliptrick over cars criteria doesn't seem to track until after you complete all of the other criterias. Often during the tutorial, if you wipeout during the Ollie Course, Vee's line about being off board will loop infinitely. Workaround: Closing and re-launching the game. The player needs to press the Back button two times for the missions menu to close. Rarely after teleporting to another player, the player will stop seeing traffic, pedestrians and other players. Rarely, the Back button has no functionality, and the player cannot exit the Replay Editor. The board stickers from the skate.pass don't appear on the board while the player is previewing them. The speech-to-text feature does not transpose the words correctly. Rarely, when interacting with a player and joining their party, you will accidentally join another player’s party. Title crashes when/if the players spam the changing tabs buttons in the SKATER menu. Exported videos are longer than their displayed in-game length. Character model stutters sometimes while performing tricks on a busy server. After spending time in the Settings menu or after changing the graphics lighting setting, shadows and lighting in San Van becomes inconsistent. Removing any socks or headwear and restarting skate. may cause previously equipped socks or headwear to be re-equipped. Multiple settings sometimes revert to incorrect states when skate. is restarted.485Views3likes0Comments0.28.5 Patch Notes
