[b]Welcome to BNS 185: Let's Play[/b] (Note: This is the long-delayed follow-up to BNS 180: Let it Snow, which introduced the elves and their quest to learn to build better doll houses and superhero lairs). You stretch out on your couch after a long weekend in the North Pole. You have really enjoyed your time teaching the elves about different types of architectural designs, but it has been a bit exhausting as well. You just wrapped up the teaching part of the job, and you’re pleased with the progress the elves have made. You have given them their "exam" requirements to build either a dollhouse or action figure/super hero lair using the techniques you have taught them. Now you have a whole month to relax before you have to go back to help "judge" their projects and offer final suggestions to the elves. The Brief: -the budget is $250,000 (this includes the lot cost). -the doll house or lair must have an "open" side, just like a real toy. -keep in mind that a "child" must be able to reach in and play in every room or space you create. -it should be at least two stories high with a staircase or ladder as well as a bathroom. -it should have at least 6 different rooms/spaces to play in. -don't forget to landscape. The Sim Challenge: -create a family or group of superheroes/action figures with at least 4 sims. -you can pick all traits, likes, dislikes, and other details. -show them enjoying the house or lair. The Room Challenge: -create a bathroom. -budget is $10,000. Remember to include the hashtag #bns185 with your build or it will not be judged! In 2021 the simmer ashubii started a thread by this name, which served as an inspiration to several of us. Now like many other threads the screenshots did not get transferred over, nor did it end up in the Sims 4 community but in the Sims Franchise Discussion instead. Since the OP does not seem to be active any longer, I have taken it on myself to salvage the post and its contents, as well as making it easy for more of us to contribute and build on the idea. The original (with links instead of pictures) can be found here. To make this as easy as possible to use and navigate the thread will have a "header"-comment for each decade of the challenge, under which screenshots and suggestions of outfits can go. Comments, requests and questions go in the comment-section at the end. Diary of a Country Girl
Hi everyone. 🙂 This is the continuation of a story I started back in March on the old Vanilla forum. If you were a regular follower of the 'What Happened In You Game Today' thread, you already know Aurora and her little family. Her save started out as just for fun. To explore things within the game that I never had before. I was just going to share a few screenshots with captions. The original idea for this save was to only be about Aurora and her sidekick, her Bernese, Piccolo. But I realized a couple of weeks ago that, yeah, it had become a story. And it deserved its own space here on the new forum. This post and the next couple will help those of you who aren't familiar, become familiar. And since the previous updates were scattered over like 75-100 pages of the old WHIYGT thread it's a nice reminder for everyone that had been following along. The title is also a hint at another change. I'm going to start writing each update like it was an entry in Aurora's diary. I may still write something here and there in a more traditional style with dialogue though. I'm also getting ready to start the reboot of my other story and by writing this one like a diary it's a lot easier to do both and still keep this interesting. So let me introduce you to everyone. Aurora Westbrook-Carter Aurora came back to her country roots. Her parents left Chestnut Ridge just as she entered her teens. She still came back to see her grandparents during the summers. She loved those visits and getting away from the city. After graduating high school she went to art school where she honed her painting and photography skills. But she never lost her love for the quiet country life in Chestnut Ridge. Now she's back where she feels most at home. Tre Carter Aurora's husband Tre came from an entirely different background. He grew up on the streets of Del Sol Valley just like his father. His mother came from Ciudad Enamorada. Yet Tre has always fascinated by the country life. He has an abiding love for horses too. Even if his first real life encounters weren't exactly smooth. Piccolo Aurora's loyal sidekick. Peanut (l), Nashville(back), and Spirit Peanut is Aurora's champion American Saddlebred. Random legacy - McIntosh family part 1
I got inspired by videos of other simmers and decided to give random legacy challenge a shot. Oh boy, is it hard! Random really didn't like me this time: permanent barista career (or at least I think that it has to be permanent and no other income allowed? Or maybe I'm just a fool...), no helpers, idle careers (can't help w school or career/job), single with 3 kids. Okay, I don't have 3 kids yet, only 1 because I'll lose it honestly if I have all 3 kids at once 😭😭 Btw, I used a special website designed for this challenge apparently to random things but there are also lists with careers etc on some kinda sims forums. And you know what? There was no barista career in the list I've found... But I guess playing as barista and having no other income other than that is kinda fun. Fun because it's hard and I think I've never been challenged in Sims like that ('cause I never bothered to) The unlucky one is Janet McIntosh (name and surname were randomized as well as her appearance and style). She reminds me of Cassandra Goth, probably because of ponytails lol Janet lives in Oasis Springs and collects stuff every day, as per the random rule I got (but she can't sell her collection as far as I understand. Maybe I'm wrong tho?). She hates her job since she doesn't like any kinds of commitments and she's afraid that she will be stuck with it forever. Janet's not wrong on that one... Poor girl. She's also mean and mischievous, but that's fun. She's almost sworn enemies with Geoffrey Landgraab (I did that on purpose) and I personally cackle because of that. As for her third trait, Janet's romantic. Also welcome father of the family — Quentin what's his surname. Well, he's biological father of our dear heir Robin alright, but he can't live with them or be married to Janet, as per the rules (she has to be a single mom). Shame, because of Janet's encouragement Quentin changed careers and after being a nanny became an entertainer and could have brought us actual money :( Fun fact is that Robin must become an entertainer one day too, because random wished so (which is very interesting coincidence. Kinda like a plot element). And there's our little heir Robin. His present random aspiration is to be creative and he's an art lover (random was very consistent with that). He also was a top notch infant and a happy child, hooray! Despite the fact that their living conditions have always been less than satisfactory (they don't have an actual house, just the needed utilities and beds...). Let's see if I can survive for longer! lol Btw, I've already randomized what second gen rules are gonna be, which include: 2 kids; comedian career (secondary careers: astronaut, culinary); two live-in partners, at least 1 kid with the first one; sims have to get in fights at least once a week; teens in the family have to work AND max their part time jobs before 3rd gen starts, even if they will become young adults That's definitely easier and pretty entertaining, if you ask me! You know, Robin's mother is a meanie and all he ever saw was her getting into fights and badmouthing people. So... I guess it's logical he and his future siblings will get into fights as well. It's just fitting. And like I said, Robin's father works in entertainment too. Maybe we can imagine that our little boy decided to follow in father's footsteps? Even if he was an absent one. Fun fact: Quentin and Robin actually met each other because Quentin came on our lot to celebrate HIS birthday on the same day Robin became a child. Can't say why he chose our lot, I was honestly surprised when that happened after he invited Janet via phone 🤔Let's imagine he actually cares about his son (we all know tho that the reason he's not a top notch dad is purely technical...)🧛♂️Straud Children - Appreciation thread
So recently I made pollconcerning beautiful kid that Vlad and my sim spawned and someone threw idea we should have appreciation thread for Vlads kids because they are all so beautiful and precious I wholly agree so obviously I had to make one B) Please post pictures of your Straud kids here and share their stories so we can all marvel at their beauty
