Anyone who knows about merged cc files...
I have recently just started merging my cc for ts2 - I thought it would do it good for my mod folder to reduce the amount of files... however, since starting doing this every time I add new CC, my game starts crashing on the same screens - CAS (ui disappears and it crashes - this happens when clicking the tick button once completing a family), creating a new hood (ui disappears and it crashes), or trying to go into a sub-hood (again, the ui disappears and then it crashes). However, I can do everything else (I believe), fine. The trouble-shooting I've done when this issue occurs is delete The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and then re-create it by opening the game. Then slowly re-introducing my cc, putting a couple of folders in at a time (including the merged files) and then opening the game each time I add something new. This seems to be the only way for it to work. Once its all back it everything seems to work fine. Then, when I add something new - merged or unmerged - the issue reoccurs. I am going to try it again, not putting any merged cc and see if the same issue happens. Really fed up with it as I just want the game to work. This has never happened to me before merging so.. a bit confused. Please can someone who might be knowledgable here help me? EDIT 1: So, it still happens after removing my downloads folder, and will only work again once I re-generate the entire Sims 2 Ultimate Collection documents folder.
[Low disk space] TS2 Legacy: No family bin, can't save the games or No CC
Hi everyone, I keep getting an error with Sims 2 Legacy and it's been really frustrating for a few days. I saw some tips on Reddit and tried disabling OneDrive and moving the EA Games folder to C:/Users/ASUS/Documents. After that, the game either loads fine (no low disk space message) but has no custom content, or it loads with custom content but I can't save the game or open the family bin. I also tried removing the trademark from the Display Name in regedit, but I couldn’t find the DisplayName there. Every Sims 2 folder under EA Games all has Default Reg_Sz (value not set) Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The Sims 2 crashing before I can even play
I bought the game a week or two ago and was experiencing random crashing after an hour or two of playing. Since last night (23rd June) the EA app did an update and restarted after I'd finished playing, I went back on today and no matter what I do the game crashes before I can even play! Once I've picked a family to play as it goes to their loading screen then suddenly crashes with no warning. Throughout all these crashes I've not once received any sort of error message. Repairing the files from the EA app does nothing, neither does deleting cache files or turning off shadows. I've been scouring the forum for ages and can't find a solution that works :(
Error getting food
Hi, I'm just going to get straight to the point. When I make my sim get an instant meal or make coffee it comes up with this error: I've asked AI what the error log means and it said that it's something to do with the interaction itself. I do have mods installed but none that affect interactions with appliances. If this is an ongoing issue please inform me of any fixes and try get it fixed straight away as it is very jarring.
Sims 2 crashing suddenly after recent update
Before the most recent update, my Sims 2 game never crashed. However, after updating on 2/28/25, the game crashes after only 20 minutes of playing. Additionally, no error messages or warnings pop up before the crash, it is always sudden after loading into the household. I have no CC or cheats enabled, so I do not know why I am experiencing this and I am not sure what to do now. Any help would be appreciated!
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection FULL of Bugs. UNPLAYABLE
Firstly, it has taken me MONTHS to figure out how to create a post on this website. This is the most confusing website I have ever come across. The Sims 2 Legacy collection issues: None of the pre-fab neighborhoods will load properly. The terrain and terrain decorations are there, but nothing else. Only the pre-fab apartments are available in the build modes, no residential or commercial properties. In some of the neighborhoods there will be a couple of pre-fab families available. Shift+Ctrl+C doesn't work so I'm unable to use any of the 'cheat' codes. I'm also unable to get the Custom Content dialogue thingy to open. I kind-of got a new neighborhood created, but it is full of bugs i.e. had a toddler who couldn't seem to interact with beds and then died from exhaustion (although the game then crashed, so as long as I don't play that household again, they're still quasi-alive). The wall building icon got stuck in one of my houses, doesn't affect game-play, but visually annoying. I'm sure there were more issues, but it's been so long, I just can't remember them all. My desktop PC is brand new this year (Re windows 11), everything all up-to-date. I've tried, clearing caches, doing both hard and soft un-install/re-installs. Please help.
The Sims 2 Legacy keeps crashing
When I play The Sims 2 Legacy edition, it crashes as soon as I enter a household. I have no mods or custom content in my game. My PC is fully updated and has the best drivers, and is completely capable of running the program. I have been repelled to play this game due to the horrible number of crashes it has. As a result of this, I have timed how long it takes to crash. It is about 28 seconds from entering a household. There is no chance of corruption due to the fact that I have not used cheats or any weird manipulation of the game files. Help would be appreciated, thank you.
